@jovanbuha I’ve had a feeling Kuminga is just a smokescreen. If he was truly Plan A, I think it would’ve been done by now. Feels like the Lakers are weighing two different options, we just don’t know what the other one is yet.

@BounceBackTalk Technically, yes. But highly unlikely. Would require something like Vando/Hardy + multiple 2nds and the swap. Don’t see why Denver would do that.

This means the Lakers will operate above the cap to acquire a starting-level forward/wing (if they so choose).
Here are the salary-matching rules they'll be dealing with:
-- Up to $8.8M in outgoing salary can bring back 200% plus $250K (e.g., Jaden Hardy for a player making up to $12.25M)
-- $8,800,001 to $29M will be padded by a flat $9,096,000 (e.g., Jarred Vanderbilt for a player making up to ~$21.5M)
-- Above $29M will be limited to 125% plus $250K (unlikely LA is able to combine this much salary)

My thoughts on Kuminga: is he THE guy or a stopgap to hold them over until they find THE guy? If it's the latter you don't give up your only remaining swap. The former then you do BUT:
If he wants more than $10 mil per year that's fine. If he's THE guy then commit, but that has to hold true for both sides. No two year deal with a player option. Can't give him the ability to walk if LA is giving up money and a swap. Otherwise you wind up in the same spot next summer but with fewer assets to go land the long-term wing.
