According to recently released Ukrainian POW's, Hungary is now working with Russia, offering Ukrainians in captivity a chance to be released if they agree to take part in propaganda statements. Prisoners of war of the Armed Forces of Ukraine from Zakarpattia (region of Ukraine that borders Hungary) are being handed over to Hungary on the condition of recording propaganda videos. This was reported by the released prisoner of war of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksiy Chorpita for the project BreakTheFake, implemented with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs @MFA_Ukraine and the Center for Strategic Communications @StratcomCentre . "In 2023, in Gorlovka, in the prison where I was then held as a prisoner of war, a revealing incident occurred. I was offered to participate in an exchange, but to go to Hungary. I myself am from Zakarpattia. However, the condition of participation in the exchange was that I had to record a video in which I would speak negatively about the Ukrainian authorities and at the same time positively about Russia, the conditions of detention and the prison regime. I refused to do this, and therefore did not get to the exchange. Fortunately, in 2025, I was nevertheless released from captivity, and I am now undergoing treatment in Ukraine, - said Chorpita." "In most cases, they are an element of Russian propaganda, created under pressure or coercion. That is why the publication of such videos in the media of other countries actually means the spread of Russian propaganda and, in fact, support for its aggression" - emphasized Oleksiy. This week, Russia handed over to Hungary two prisoners of war of the Armed Forces of Ukraine who were in captivity. After their arrival in Budapest, the Hungarian TV channel published a video in which the military thanked their Russian captors for their survival.

Russian media claim that the EU “remains Russia’s main trading partner,” but real data show the opposite. Trade between the EU and Russia has collapsed — in some countries by more than 90%. According to the German Economic Institute: • Germany cut imports from Russia by 92% • Italy — by 83% • Belgium — by 67% • similar declines across most EU states The only exception is Hungary, which increased purchases of Russian resources. Meanwhile, China imports $130B worth of goods from Russia, and India has increased its imports by 680% since 2022 — showing that Moscow was forced to shift trade to the Global South. The new EU sanctions target Russian LNG, the shadow fleet, financial operations, and diplomatic activity, further limiting Kremlin revenues. Propaganda tries to present this as “sanctions don’t work,” but the numbers prove the opposite.

🇵🇱 Poland detained Russian citizen Igor Rogov, ex-Navalny coordinator in Mordovia, accused of spying for the FSB. Investigations by Wirtualna Polska & The Insider show he received refugee status, housing + a scholarship from Poland’s MFA while passing info to Russian agents. He allegedly tried to send an encrypted flash drive to Russia hidden with vodka & cookies — and even explosive parts. His case shows how Moscow exploits EU humanitarian programs for intelligence work. #BreakTheFake

🧵8/8 Each angry headline is proof of impact. The more the Kremlin shouts, the deeper the pain. Sanctions are working — and that’s the real story.

🧵1/8 The Kremlin calls EU sanctions “useless.” In reality, that anger shows they work. The 19th package hits Russia’s war economy harder than before. #BreakTheFake

🧵1/3 Kremlin media now frame war as defense against a hostile West. It is psychological mobilization not information. Support for peace talks hits 66% the highest since 2022. #BreakTheFake
