In his address to the UK Parliament, President of Ukraine @ZelenskyyUa highlighted Ukraine’s growing role in global security. 201 Ukrainian experts are already deployed in the Middle East and the Gulf region, with 34 more ready to go, helping partners defend against “shahed” drones. 💬 "Today, just a few “shaheds” can disrupt oil shipments at a scale that affects entire regions, or destroy desalination plants and hit millions of people in the most painful way. The cost of living is rising everywhere. And terrorists around the world are learning what they, too, can do. And we all know the solutions that can prevent this," Volodymyr Zelenskyy has stressed. He also demonstrated the system that shows real-time attacks and air defence on an iPad. The President presented one to King Charles III, who asked for another for the Prime Minister. Ukraine is capable of producing 2,000 of interceptors daily and is ready to expand cooperation with partners.

Today, Lina Kostenko is 96! Happy birthday! Born on March 19, 1930, Lina Kostenko became one of the most prominent Ukrainian writers. A leading voice of the Sixtiers generation, she openly challenged Soviet repression. In 1966, she attended the political trial of Ukrainian intellectuals in Lviv and, in a powerful gesture of solidarity, threw flowers to the convicted dissidents in the courtroom – an act that led to interrogation by the authorities and further surveillance. Throughout the 1960s and 1970s, her works were repeatedly censored or banned. Entire books were suppressed for years. Kostenko chose writing “for the drawer” rather than betraying her principles. Today, her work resonates far beyond Ukraine. It speaks about freedom, dignity, and historical memory. Lina Kostenko is not only a poet of words, but of moral clarity.

Report by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Andrii Sybiha, on the results of his special diplomatic assignments in Latin America. The Minister held meetings with the President and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Chile, as well as with representatives of more than ten other countries in the region. It is important that we are preparing to step up the work of our missions in Latin America and to cooperate with the region on international platforms. The Minister also reported on communication with representatives of our key European partners on security and political issues that are important for Ukraine. Everyone agrees that Ukraine can be a real partner in ensuring security. We also discussed the preparation of diplomatic events in Ukraine in the coming weeks. During his briefing, @SpoxUkraineMFA Heorhii Tykhyi stated that Ukraine has not heard any condemnation from Hungary over the fact that a Russian strike damaged the Druzhba pipeline. He added that instead of explaining to Hungarian citizens why the country has failed to diversify its energy supply, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán is focusing on Ukraine in his rhetoric. 💬 "So Hungary politicises this issue, makes it a political point, and puts forward demands to Ukraine, which is absurd in our view. Ukraine faces large-scale terror, air terror from Russia. Our infrastructure is being damaged every day. And even since the damage done to the Druzhba pipeline, there have already been other damages to other Ukrainian pipelines, other infrastructure, for example, the Odesa-Brody pipeline. Ukraine repairs all of that. But we do not have unlimited resources. We are in a full-scale war, which Hungary decides to ignore for some reason," Heorhii Tykhyi has stated.

Russia’s continued violations of NATO airspace are yet another reminder that its aggression extends far beyond Ukraine. We strongly condemn this reckless act and stand in full solidarity with Estonia. There must be zero tolerance for such provocations. Russia must face continued pressure and accountability, while Allies remain united in safeguarding our collective security.

We strongly condemn the execution of a Swedish citizen in Iran. The death penalty is a cruel and unacceptable form of punishment, and such actions only deepen the isolation of the Iranian regime. I extend my deepest condolences to the family and loved ones of the victim. Soaring energy prices as a result of the Middle East escalation increase the risk of Russian aggression escalating in Europe. To mitigate this impact, pressure on Russia should not be reduced but rather increased sharply. Russian shadow fleet tankers must not only be stopped but also seized. Individual sanctions must be expanded. It is also time to impose EU-wide entry bans for Russian combatants. The 20th EU sanctions package must be adopted without delay, and any blackmail by separate member states on unrelated issues must be stopped with decisive action. Sanctions against Russia are about more than just supporting Ukraine or expressing solidarity with Ukrainians. The EU imposes sanctions against Russia for its own sake, to counter Russia’s aggressive war machine that poses a threat to every European family. The same is true for the €90 billion loan for Ukraine—this money is not charity; this is an investment in countering Russian aggression and maintaining peace in Europe. All of these steps are critical strategic security issues for all of Europe, and they are urgent.

On the night of March 19, Russia struck residential districts in Odesa, injuring at least three people. Apartments in a 25-storey building were partially destroyed, with a fire breaking out. Two more buildings were also damaged. Emergency psychologists assisted 19 civilians, including three children, while 70 residents were evacuated from their flats. Russia keeps targeting civilian homes. This is terror – and Russia must be held accountable for every crime.

Under the cover of night, Ukrainian defenders conduct operations that demand maximum concealment and minimal exposure to Russian aerial reconnaissance. We thank them for protecting millions of civilians – day and night.

Ukraine’s Security Service has uncovered a large-scale Russian disinformation operation targeted at members of Hungarian community in Ukraine. Russians made fake calls with threats to Hungarians posing as Ukrainian law enforcement. The revealed operation demonstrates the scale of Russian interference in Hungarian elections on the side of Viktor Orban. I met with @SecGenNATO Mark Rutte. We discussed many different topics, but first and foremost strengthening air defense and protecting our people from Russian attacks. We are very grateful for the PURL initiative, which allows us to purchase missiles for the Patriots from the United States. We will work to bring new countries into this initiative and increase contributions. Of course, we also discussed the situation around Iran and its impact on Ukraine and all of Europe. Russia must not gain any benefit from this or any opportunity to prolong its war against Ukraine. Thank you, Mark, for your support!

In a trilateral format with Prime Minister of the United Kingdom @Keir_Starmer and @SecGenNATO Mark Rutte, we discussed joint weapons production and coordination in this direction to strengthen Ukraine and all of Europe. It is important to continue strengthening our air defense and ensuring it has a sufficient number of missiles for air defense systems. In particular, the decisions adopted during the Ramstein-format meeting must be implemented as soon as possible, and the PURL initiative must be replenished with additional contributions. I thank Keir and Mark for their efforts to support Ukraine and to maintain focus on Ukraine and the swiftest possible achievement of a dignified peace.

Ukraine has received the EU accession benchmarks for the final three negotiating clusters – “Competitiveness and Inclusive Growth,” “Green Agenda and Sustainable Connectivity,” and “Resources, Agriculture and Cohesion Policy” – completing the full set of requirements for membership! Earlier, in December, Ukraine was provided with benchmarks for three other clusters: “Fundamentals,” “Internal Market,” and “External Relations.” This marks a major milestone in Ukraine’s European integration. The next steps are the successful closure of all clusters and the signing of the Accession Treaty – the final stage toward full EU membership. Ukraine will continue implementing reforms, fulfilling its commitments, and reporting progress to the EU 🇺🇦🇪🇺

The Middle East escalation has profoundly changed perceptions of Ukraine not only for the Gulf but around the world. This might have surprised someone. In fact, we have been saying it for months: Ukraine is no longer only a country asking for support but a security contributor for Europe and other regions. Over the past few weeks, 11 countries have requested Ukraine’s assistance in protecting their people from aerial attacks. Some of them have already thanked us for tangible support. Our solutions are battle-tested, cost-effective, and technologically advanced. Partnership with Ukraine adds strength in protecting life. We are open to developing mutually beneficial cooperation.

I believe that in this war of Russia against Ukraine, there are prospects for a peaceful settlement. Of course there are moments of frustration, internal issues, war related complications, all sorts of trouble. But nevertheless, we must understand one thing: Ukraine wants peace, President Trump wants peace – which means we are allies on this issue, and there should be no doubt about it. We must move toward this goal. Ukraine wants peace much more than Putin does. Yet Putin does everything to make it look as though he wants peace and Ukraine does not. These are signals he sends to America. This is not true; it is manipulation. I very much want the U.S. to trust us, because we are their partners. Even when help was needed in the Middle East, we responded immediately to the request. That is what being allies all about. We need to keep looking each day for ways to reach a peace agreement. We need to meet with the Americans. We have a couple more ideas on how we can force this war to end. From an interview with New York Post (5/5).
