@ramez He got 3 million deported. Most were not criminals. Police cooperated with removals. Masks are needed because of leftist political violence that is unprecedented.

@BrianmacMSFT I presume you know the facts here. Obama focused on the border. Within the country, ICE went pretty much exclusively after those convicted of violent crimes. They didn't wear masks or round up construction guys or nannies or short order cooks. Feel free to read up on it.

Prominent Republicans need to be speaking out on the tyranny we're seeing. Legislators. Ex-legislators. And tech-right figures who supported and enabled Trump. Your silence is deafening. We hear it loud and clear. It's still not too late to speak the truth here.

@GovBobFerguson Ok so in your book it’s ok to pull a gun on federal officers? You are a disgrace and must resign now.

My thoughts are with Alex Pretti's family and loved ones. He was an ICU nurse, performing technically and emotionally demanding work caring for critically ill veterans. Colleagues and former patients describe a person who was kind, funny, and deeply caring.

@SenatorCantwell Not a rational statement. He pulled a gun on federal officers. When you do this, probably through junior staff, you lose all credibility. Is it really worth it to virtue signal like this when it’s such a lie?

President Trump has crossed the line. Americans will not stand for masked, armed troops roaming their neighborhoods. ICE is not trained in this capacity and should not be on streets. This incident should be investigated immediately and not politicized by the President.

@ramez @paulg If people were not threatening their lives for doing their duty they would not have to be masked. I wish they were less heavy-handed but I don’t think they can be faulted for wearing masks.

@paulg I disagree on this one. Trump is making it easier for the Democrats to win by standing for democracy and not having masked thugs in the streets.

Wokeness isn't why the Democrats lost the election. But it is why they're too weak now to oppose Trump. They don't know what they stand for.

Today, I shared a message with Seattle. This is your city. Everyone should be safe in their homes, in their workplaces, and in our community. I’m determined to make it that way. Find immigration response resources at @washindivisble and at bit.ly/IRRP. #thisisyourcity

@ramez Agreed way overstated. Best reason to help boost their production is to stabilize Venezuela and improve the lives of those living there not to think it’s zero sum with Russia. In the long run it will help somewhat to mitigate against any future oil shocks.

This is dumb. 1. It's oil production that matters, not reserves. 2. Venezuela has ~1% of global production and might get all the way back to 3% only after 5-10 years of heavy investment. 3. Russia's oil revenue is held down by price caps well below market prices.
Brian McDonald@BrianMcDonaldIE

Russian billionaire Oleg Deripaska warns that if the US secures control over Venezuela’s oil fields, after already moving into Guyana, it could end up overseeing more than half of the world’s reserves. In his view, Washington would then be able to hold oil prices near $50 a barrel, putting serious pressure on Russia’s state-capitalist economic model.
