Gas Leak and Road Closure - Summit Street closed between Main St and Court Street CPFD is on scene of a natural gas leak. NIPSCO is working to resolve the issue. There is currently no estimated time for the road to reopen.

A rollover crash around 5:30 PM today at Main St and Joliet St resulted in two people taken to an area hospital with minor injuries. Crash cleanup is complete. CPPD is investigating.

Firefighters across the region are responding to many calls about a smell of natural gas outside. We are working with NIPSCO to determine a source. You should call 911 if you smell gas INSIDE your business or home, however the outside odor seems to be area-wide.
