You do know that the southern plains turned to desert for 4 thousand years during a climate period known as the Altithermal. From 8000 to 4000 years ago most of Oklahoma, northern Texas, western Kansas and eastern Colorado were rendered uninhabitable. Archaeologists call this area the empty quarter due to the absence of permanent human habitation in the archaeological record. The area was effectively a desert lacking the resources to support long term habitation.

Speaking of the 1930s Dust Bowl… many all-time US heat records were set during that time. It’s important to understand that the Dust Bowl was - in large part - a manmade phenomenon. So when people claim “man can’t change the climate” the Dust Bowl flies in the face of that claim. If you have genuine interest in the history, how it happened etc… watch this 5-minute video I did a few years ago. I interviewed a Plain States historian and a climate scientist who offered some great perspective. cbsnews.com/amp/news/dust-…
Extreme Temperatures Around The World@extremetemps

More exceptional heat pulses from West to East are expected next week with widespread 100s again in the desert areas and parts of the Central States Not even the Dust Bowl heat waves or anything else ever seen so far can compare to this: All climatologists are baffled.

People had been using this as a shortcut to a waterfall for years, then someone actually buys the property and suddenly he’s the bad guy for putting up a gate. It’s private land. Just because something was “always open” doesn’t mean it belongs to everyone. Now they’re showing up pissed, flipping him off on camera like he owes them access. Here’s a compilation of all the people mad about it

I’m a fourth generation Colorado native. I imagine that the native Americans in the 19th century felt a bit like I do now. Their home that they loved invaded by a foreign hoard. Changed fundamentally. The lands the same but an insanity of greed to own and dominate. I hope they don’t want to remove us natives but I wouldn’t put it past them.

I used to view Donald Trump simply as a solid, effective president... someone who delivered results on the economy, borders, and foreign policy without all the usual political polish. But over time, I've come to see something much bigger: the entire American political system has been rotten and corrupt for decades. It's not just isolated scandals or bad actors; it's a deeply entrenched network of career politicians, unelected bureaucrats, lobbyists, intelligence agencies, and media gatekeepers who operate as a self-protecting "uniparty" or "swamp." They prioritize their own power, insider deals, endless wars, and special interests over the actual needs of everyday Americans. Elections often feel like theater, with the same outcomes no matter who wins—more debt, more control, more erosion of freedoms. What sets Trump apart is that he's the only major figure in modern politics who's truly taken on that machine head-on and actually shaken it. Previous leaders talked tough about reform but ultimately played along with the system, got rich from it, or were too tied into it to challenge it meaningfully. Donald Trump, as a DC outsider who didn't need their approval or their money, has exposed the corruption, fought back against weaponized institutions, and forced the hidden power structures into the open... even when it meant relentless attacks, impeachments, indictments, and lawfare aimed directly at him and his children. He's far from perfect, and the battle is far from over, but for the first time in my lifetime, someone has genuinely threatened the status quo and refused to back down. That's why the pushback against him has been so ferocious: he represents the real possibility of dismantling the corrupt system rather than just managing it. To me, supporting him now isn't just about one good presidency... it's about finally having a fighter who's willing to take on the whole rigged game for the sake of the country, and God help us if he fails.

🚨 THEY’RE COMING FOR YOUR KIDS’ FISHING POLES NEXT I’m standing right here at one of Oregon’s favorite family fishing spots Cleveland Rapids in Roseburg where dads, moms, and kids have made memories for generations. But radical IP28 (the so-called “PEACE Act”) will make this whole lifestyle a CRIME. No more teaching your kids to fish. No more fresh dinner from the river. No more freedom. This isn’t “animal rights” it’s a full-on BAN on fishing, hunting, and our way of life. Oregon’s fish populations depend on ODFW hatcheries that stock millions of salmon, steelhead, and trout every year. These programs eat up over one-third of the Fish Division’s budget ($95 million per two-year cycle) funded almost entirely by fishing license sales. Banning fishing sounds ‘pro-fish’ but leads to overcrowding, stunted fish, & disease. Managed harvest keeps populations healthy IP28 throws that out! Watch the full video before they take it away too 👇

@VanDiemen_ Cat is out of the bag I’m afraid. Most of the west’s resorts towns are the playgrounds for rich communists. From they’re lofty mansions they can decree their insane woke agenda on the peasants who live in the cities. Rules for thee but not for me.

Colorado is the gold standard of elections. Case in point. Neither of my sons have lived with me in many years. However, they still send their election ballots to my address. I suspect the voter rolls are far from accurate in Colorado . We need the SAVE Act to pass.

@morganisawizard My friend works at steamboat and I asked how much longer it would be open. She said they would close before March was over. Sad because my best friend and I have a ski weekend there every year the second weekend in April.

Well, I dropped a thousand bucks getting all new spark plugs and ignition coils on my BMW 650. I was hoping this would fix the drivetrain error and the fact that the thing is in "limp mode." That means at low speed, it chugs like it's gonna die. The mechanic told me that he was also seeing some errors with the high pressure fuel valves. Apparently, these are something that causes the engine to spray fuel into the motor at high pressures to deal with the turbo and all that. Anyway, long story short, fixing the plugs and the coils didn't solve the problem. Now I've got to drop another $1,500 on the fuel valves. So now I'm into this thing for about $2,500. 😥 That's the problem with these eight-cylinder twin turbo engines. It's just a matter of time before they COST you. It's too bad because I was planning to sell this car and get something newer, but now I have to do the repairs first, because nobody's going to buy it chugging down the street.
