@clarityysix Now tack on Eververse and expansions and take into account that this is a small sample size. People like me would pay and haven’t signed yet.

Even if every single one of those sigs paid £70 for the game, that’s only just around £12m, unfortunately that absolutely is NOT enough to convince sony to make D3 Assuming D3 would have the same budget of around $200m as marathon, it would need around 3 million signatures.

A petition calling for Sony to greenlight Destiny 3 has hit over 170,000 signatures online “We believe in the potential of Destiny 3 to inspire new generations of gamers and to keep the fire of the Guardian spirit alive”

@HooleyHD @ImaDrifter_ @DestinyBulletn You’re getting a small sample size on Twitter participating in this petition. The actual playerbase is much larger than that. Their chances for monitization are much deeper than the initial game’s cost.

@CapsFan941 @ImaDrifter_ @DestinyBulletn As much as I want a D3 10.5 million is nothing. D2 cost 500 million to develop even though it did profit from from launch I don’t see Sony investing that much into a D3 unfortunately

@ImaDrifter_ @DestinyBulletn $70*150k copies=$10.5M if they sell at current new game market values. Hard to ignore that staring you in the face.

@DestinyBulletn I really love how people think that doing. This is gonna show any real support but all it’s doing is just giving false hope because even Bungie themselves said that they’re not doing a Destiny 3

@IGN $70 a pop per new game is $8.4M. I have no signed the petition. That’s another collectors edition on top of that. Seems like they should listen, #WeWantDestiny3

@I_LOVE_JAHY @DestinyBulletn Well. If they sell the game they will recoup the funds. They need a new business model. Stop relying solely on the eververse and dlcs. Make it a paid game again.

I havent played Destiny in what seems like years, but I will log in June 9th. Not that I think it will make a difference with Sony at the helm, but if theres a chance to make them realise what they have, this is it. #Destiny3
Llama@LlamaOnD2

The ONLY chance we have for a Destiny 3 to be greenlit is to have as many people logging in on June 9th as possible and showing the world how much Destiny means to us all. Signing this petition also helps → c.org/nc9TfFDd9p

@InfiniteGrunt That’s what @Sony would do if they wanted to make money. Full price D3 with a strong support team. I think they’re just looking for write offs. No other reason to invest in Marathon.

@HARDHEAD7WD Haven’t signed this but would pay for D3 collectors edition full price and play. The ownership, and thus publisher, needs to put a little “give a fuck” in this situation. The problem is Sony’s narrow vision of Marathon is the future. Maybe as a write off lmao

@LordCharizard33 @DestinyBulletn If you understand this is a corporate business, they actually did the devs a favor. They would’ve otherwise been canned immediately.

@BlameItOnRyen Or Sony could get their heads out of their asses and properly support the established IP with a large following that obviously still gives a shit and just wants some reciprocal give a fuck from the publisher (ownership in this case, I think the devs cared)

Destiny fans might not wanna hear it, but if you really want to see Bungie get a greenlight for Destiny 3 you should maybe support Marathon as opposed to shitting on it and review bombing it.

To the top of Bungie, the board, the directors, *whoever* was in charge of these atrocious decisions over the last few years that led us here: I hope all of you feel even just a fraction of the pain you’ve caused the Destiny community.

@DrFuryWolf @Dexerto You people are fucking retarded. They arent forcing people onto marathon or killing destiny 2. Theyre ending content support for a looter shooter thats been around a decade so they can focus on newer games. I cant believe how fucking stupid some of you are. Destiny 2 is playable.

Read the full blog at bung.ie/d2_may_21_2026 For almost twelve years, we have had the joy and honor to explore the Destiny universe with you all. Through all the ups and downs, surprises and triumphs, building Destiny alongside our players has been a monumental privilege. While our love for Destiny 2 has not changed, it has become clear that after The Final Shape, we have reached the time for our shared worlds, and Destiny, to live beyond Destiny 2. As our focus turns towards a new beginning for Bungie, we will begin work incubating our next games. To that end, on June 9, 2026, we will release the final live-service content update for Destiny 2 to begin that new journey as a studio. Though active development may be concluding, we will ensure that Destiny 2 remains playable, just as the original Destiny is today. Many changes in this final update will aim to ensure that Destiny 2 is a welcoming place for players to return to. We’re proud of Destiny 2, the places it took us, and the legacy it has created. Because of you all, our universe is vast, built on years of shared stories, adventures, and victories. From the Cosmodrome to the Pale Heart to the Lawless Frontier, we have forged life-long memories and friendships with you all. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who made that journey with us. From the deepest part of our hearts, thank you, and we'll see you in the stars.
