Someone once said that Katara is a prodigy but the writers were scared to call her one and I've believed this claim ever since. The girl's bending prowess is a case where the story tells something different than it is showing.
We are shown multiple times in Book Water that Katara was born with natural raw power in her bending, hinting at her potential to become a great master. Her only weakness was that she required a master to demonstrate the techniques to her. Without one, she was considered a slow learner.
However, even though that's made clear, Pakku doesn't give credit to her talent. He instead says her quick mastery of the element is due to her hard work and determination, because that's the narrative we're supposed to believe, even though Zuko, whose been firebending for years with the best teachers and has always struggled with his element, is still learning advanced techniques from a master at the start of the show and is shown to be on par, if not worse than Katara by the end of the first season.
Don't get it twisted, I'm not saying Katara didn't work hard, but when you compare her to prodigies like Azula and Aang, and then do the same with non-talented hard workers like Zuko, she fits way more snuggly with the former than the latter.

Fun Fact: Katara is the only waterbender shown to unintentionally waterbend in the entire series

@JeffTheeShark I dont think Kpop demon hunters would even be as big if released in theatres only. It releasing on Netflix where its easily accesible for most made it so that some people who wouldnt be sure about buying a ticket could just give it a try and if they didnt like it turn it off.

Important to remember: Sony ALSO believed this and decided to sell it to Netflix for like 6 nickels Then Netflix just threw it up with NO marketing. The only reason KPDH did well was BECAUSE people talked about it. Thats why NOW we're getting McD collabs and Barbie Dolls

Napoleon needed a king for Holland
He gave the throne to his brother Louis in 1806 and told him to run it like a French province
Louis learned Dutch, fell in love with the country, lowered taxes, and refused to send Dutch soldiers to die in Napoleon's wars
Napoleon exiled him in 1810 for being too Dutch
The Dutch still consider him one of their better kings

A Swedish eurodance song from 1998 somehow became the chorus blasting out of millions of cheap plastic toy phones worldwide.
Smile. dk released Butterfly on their debut album that year. The duo built the track around a bright bubbly beat and lyrics about a girl searching for her perfect samurai knight.
Konami added it straight into the first Dance Dance Revolution arcade game – the one where players step on floor pads to match the rhythm. It took off hard in arcades across Asia. Smile. dk even became the first foreign act to perform on South Korea’s biggest music TV show in 1999.
Then came the twist. Chinese factories sampled the unmistakable “Ay iyai yai” hook into toy phones and gadgets sold everywhere. An entire generation grew up hearing it on repeat from their playroom shelves.
Veronica Almqvist, the only founding member still with the group, continues performing the song live today.
