@doctorbingpup Barbie, KPDH, Hunger Games Hoppers currently. Even older films like Alien show women led films are popular with women AND men,m

@JeffTheeShark Ngl it’s kinda wack studios think this because rather consistently over the last 15 years or so, the movies that blew up to this level have been ones that are more aimed at girls rather than boys.
English

Important to remember: Sony ALSO believed this and decided to sell it to Netflix for like 6 nickels Then Netflix just threw it up with NO marketing. The only reason KPDH did well was BECAUSE people talked about it. Thats why NOW we're getting McD collabs and Barbie Dolls

disney: we can’t have a girl power movie sony: boooo watch and learn

@JeffTheeShark @codysoyeah Let’s also not forget that Sony is guilty of the exact same thing with Matt Braly and Rebecca Sugar’s movie…
English

@GrooveboxVJ Sony literally sold it what the fuck are YOU even talking about
English

@JeffTheeShark if they were thinking it would flop they would never put their best animation studio on it. what the fuck are you even talking about
English

@JeffTheeShark To be fair Netflix does virtually no advertising for anything they do.
English

@JeffTheeShark Sony believed it because y'all didn't support their other Original animations.

@JeffTheeShark Don't let people forget this fact. The corporations did NOT believe in this movie or the people making it. It was specifically the love of the people making it and the audience that resonated with it that pushed this movie into it's success. WE did this. Not the companies.
English

@itzyfr618 I only watched it because people on the internet were praising it. But I hadn't even HEARD of the film prior
English

@JeffTheeShark Recuerdo que un par de días antes del estreno se filtraron los primeros minutos. Si no los hubiera visto, ni me hubiera molestado en ver la peli porque no había nada de promoción
Español

@JeffTheeShark the only reason it did well in the beginning was because of kpop stans and especially twice fans because they do the soundtrack. people started tweeting about it and more kpop fans watched it, resulting in top 10, at this point kids started to watch it and it got spread SO fast
English

@Schezarade Well KPDH came out well after the pandemic so regardless Someone made a bad decision. Similarly Netflix didn't market the film
English

@JeffTheeShark I gotta quibble a bit here. Sony's decisions were made during Covid when theaters & movie industry were way DOWN. Sony was trying to keep people employed. They supported KPDH & its crew enough to see the project through to completion, instead of cutting it. SONY DID GOOD!!

nunca saberemos pq what if só tinha ideia de histórias de MERDA, e quando era algo bom eles descartaram pra focar em coisas desnecessárias.
