This event took place in the Niger Delta region of Nigeria and has no connection to the Ibo people. The third image even shows a woman fully dressed in Yoruba women’s regalia. This kind of cultural misrepresentation needs to be addressed. Perhaps it’s time for stronger accountability measures, including formal recognition and protection of cultural content. They cropped a part of the video, slapped an Igbo song on it, and added text saying: “This is Igbo land, Onitsha, 1932.” This right here shows how low some people will go just to claim others culture as theirs. It costs nothing to be yourself. If Igbos truly had a history to point to, they wouldn’t be stealing other people’s culture, traditions, or even claiming entire groups as theirs. Enzo in the #10 will always hold us back to some extent. He needs to be used deeper in his natural position for this team to move forward. If the club don’t think he can be used there, then uncomfortable conversations need to be had. I personally think he can do it, & has the minerals to be best CM in the league if we add the right physicality around him.
