The world’s greatest Trotting Race - Le Prix D’Amerique at Vincennes in Paris - is at 3:20 this afternoon UK time. The stellar line-up of 18 horses have won 231 races between them amassing over €18.7 million in prize money. This is a cracking renewal.

@WeaverRacing Judging by the area Pons is in, the distinctive white outer rail & the unusual course junction I’d have a guess at Gemozac.

Anyone any idea which French track these photos were taken at last summer? Four fixtures a year, including one from Pons when that closed down.

The ESC Semi Final draw is made - in total 35 countries will compete in the 2026 ESC but 30 must go through semi final qualification. 15 countries in each SF & 10 will qualify from each. Big hitters Sweden & Israel both in SF1, Ukraine go in SF2 & UK fans can only vote during SF2

Going into the Jumps Championship Day at Cagnes-sur-Mer here are the meet leaders to date - Trainers: M Seror 19 winners (11 runners); M Pitart 17 wins (10 runners); Y Fouin 6 wins (6 runners). Jockeys: L Philipperon 15 wins; C Lefebvre 12 wins.

One of my favourite day’s racing of the year - Jumps Championship Day at Cagnes-sur-Mer - the penultimate day of the boutique Cagnes jumps meeting (day 10 of 11) with closing day on Tuesday. Feature race is the 4,600m Grand Prix de la Ville de Nice (Chase) with 12 going to post.

Final meeting of the French Jumps season is at Pau on NYE (8 race card) & Mickael Seror has a 67,865€ lead over Francois Nicolle in the Trainer’s Championship. Seror has 10 runners on the card & Nicolle has 6 - the most prize money Nicolle can amass on the day is 106,300€.

Mon 29 Dec is Day 8 of the 11 Day Cagnes-sur-Mer Jumps meeting. Meet leaders - Trainers: M Seror 17 wins (21 runners on card); M Pitart 12 wins (9 runners); Y Fouin 5 wins (14 runners). Top jockeys: L Philipperon 13 winners; C Lefebvre 8 winners; K Nabet & T Beaurain 3 winners.

As good of a horse race you will ever see! My American Racing friends, I know I bang on about jump racing, and I get that it’s not everyone’s cup of tea, but if you haven’t watched yesterday’s King George VI Chase at Kempton Park, do yourself a favor and take just one minute out of your day to watch the last 4 fences (start at the 5-minute mark). Eight horses, separated by just a few lengths, attacking each fence, over 3 miles...majestic! Fantastic call by @CommentatorMark , who, as some of you may remember, used to call the Kentucky Derby at Churchill Downs.
