Some years test us more than others, and this was a tough one. Happy birthday to the builder whose vision gave us all something to believe in. I know it hasn’t been easy, but your courage and persistence have set the foundation for so many of us to build our lives and dreams. You showed us what it means to lead, even when the path is hard. Happy Birthday @IOHK_Charles

If we want to attract serious projects, we must be serious about onboarding. We need one entry point. One narrative. One offer they can’t refuse.

The best ecosystem wins. Not the best chain. We must make Cardano the best ecosystem. All it takes, is coordination. One clear story and path will take us further than most can imagine.

If you're in Cardano, DON'T shift your attention to midnight. These scavenger mines are really not worth the time, effort and electricity bill. You won't even notice it til a year from now (assuming you're still mining). Cardano still has a chance to survive if y'all stop getting distracted by shiny new vaporware.

Strange the #Cardano community is finally outraged with the foundation now, while the “decentralized” governance was never decentralized this whole time. Age of wallet should have = voting power to amount of $ADA …people invest more than just their money ⏳
Anthony@AnthonyCardano

1 million individual users with 1 $ADA each could vote yes, then just 1 whale with 1 million & 1 $ADA could vote no & the result is No. This is not decentralized. The rich get richer while the grunts grind to dust #Cardano

DReps did not approve funding for GovTool. 737M stake (14.3%) voted explicitly NO while 1.38B stake (26.9%) did not vote at all. Are DReps exhausted or just saving TX fees? Would it be more transparent if DReps explicitly voted NO? BTW, what should the GovTool team do now?

Decentralization is about incentives and greed. People want to get rewarded, so they mine BTC or stake ADA. SPOs want to get rewarded, so they run staking pools. All participants have to invest or risk something to get rewarded. ▪️BTC miners invest in ASIC hardware and electricity. ▪️ADA stakers had to buy coins and delegate to the pool that produces blocks. ▪️SPOs invest time and pay the costs associated with running a Cardano node. CC members submitted a proposal requesting compensation for their work in on-chain governance. Is this a legitimate request? Let’s think about it. Both CC members and DReps need time to review governance actions and make decisions. They sacrifice time, just like SPOs. In this context, it is irrelevant that CC members review constitutionality and DReps deal with the merits of proposals. Both are time-consuming and require quality review. From my perspective, it is important to assess how important decentralization and quality are for us. A certain number of CC members are elected every year. The elections are decentralized, but CC members are more of a centralized entity. DReps is a more decentralized entity. Anyone can become a DRep at any time. There is no upper limit to the number of DReps. DReps are similar to SPOs. The voting power of DReps depends on the delegations they receive from ADA holders. This is another similarity with SPOs. From SPOs, delegators expect quality - they must regularly mint blocks and must offer fair fees. It is possible to objectively assess who is a quality SPO and who is not. With DReps, it is more complicated. Opinions on the quality of decision-making on proposals are subjective. Does governance need incentives, or should CC members and DReps work for free? If we want to attract experts to governance and maintain decentralization, incentives are necessary. It seems that CC members are not as fatigued from voting as DReps are. Incentives would allow us to attract new people who would be willing to vote and provide rationales. This is exactly what we want. If DReps stopped voting in a bear market and ADA holders were not willing to delegate to active DReps, in an extreme case, it would be impossible to approve any proposal because the threshold would not be reached. A competitive environment is generally healthy for any environment, including decentralized ones. It was difficult to get a sufficient number of candidates for some Intersect committees, while their members receive compensation. This is another signal that we need some incentives, both for on-chain governance and for CC members and committees. In my opinion, incentives should start with ADA stakers. Maybe we should link staking and governance. Governance was introduced in a hurry, in my opinion, and maybe not all aspects were thought out. At this stage, it would be best to conduct a thorough analysis of the current state and identify the problems. Then, we should think about a comprehensive solution and consider how and for whom to introduce incentives, if at all. Incentives should address specific problems, encourage decentralization, and, in the case of on-chain governance, increase efficiency and quality.

Yea, the cycle is different. It is what it is. If you're a value investor in the crypto space, nothing changes. If not, and you think this is a bear market, you have the choice to sell. You can sell. That would be a massive mistake in my opinion. QT ends December 1st. Look at crypto marketcap chart through years of QT. Higher highs and higher lows. The strength there is telling. U.S. government shut down will also end, and this will help at the confluence of normalization and Market Structure/Clarity. Much data will come out about who was buying this shakeout. The story is that retail is slowly getting wiped out. Over and over. Big money is positioning. As someone who is part of "retail", I understand the frustration here, but stamina is needed. I'm resolved to keep building. I'm even more resolved to do so when many of my comments are "it's over". The storm will pass and the crypto space will grow. The slow growth we've seen of higher highs might actually turn into a more powerful burst to upside when clouds lift, though that's yet to be seen. Trillions are preparing to enter crypto in the midst of deregulation and market structure. I'm here for all of it.
