It's laughable to say that women are shot for not wearing hijab. Women do need more freedom there but the West shouldn't weave ghost stories to justify the illegal war. It's rather Israel and the US who need more lessons in international laws. There's a law in Iran for mandatory hijab and it is enforced strictly sometimes, although many young women also defy it. Moral policing also is a big issue there and sparked protests after the death of a woman in prison in 2022. The degree of enforcement of such laws depends upon the ideological bent of the elected president.
