To our best knowledge and satellite imagery tracking, 108 tankers have departed the Strait of Hormuz since 2026-03-01. That's ~3 TANKERS A DAY; including the Iranian-linked/owned ones.
Of the 108, there are 78 known sanctions violators.
In detail:
- 20 LPG tankers (12 of which are known sanctions violators)
- 1 sanctions-compliant LNG tanker.
- 31 VLCC supertankers (29 of which are known sanctions violators)

As the Iran War continues to rage in the Middle East, the U.S. Department of Defense has now added the number of American casualties sustained so far during the conflict to the Defense Casualty Analysis System (DCAS), which states that a total of 365 American servicemembers have been injured by hostile fire as part of U.S. strike operations against Iran, while the death toll remains at 13. Of those 365 American servicemembers wounded during the fighting with Iran:

U.S. Federal Agents have detained the niece and grand-niece of Qassem Soleimani, the Former Commander of the Quds Force under Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps who was killed in a strike order by President Donald J. Trump on Baghdad in 2020. According to a statement from the U.S. State Department, Hamideh Soleimani Afshar and her daughter were arrested by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) after their lawful permanent resident status was revoked by Secretary of State Marco Rubio, who additionally terminated the legal status of Fatemeh Ardeshir-Larijani, the daughter of Iranian politician Ali Larijani, and her husband Seyed Kalantar Motamedi in early April.

A large group of C-17 military transport aircraft of the US Air Force is crossing the Atlantic and heading towards the Middle East, according to data from Flightradar24.
C-17s are used for transporting personnel, heavy weapons, and armored vehicles. This is one of the largest aerial troop deployments since the beginning of the war. Trump is not about to exit the conflict.

To some extent understandable as negotiators were being assasinated, and negotiations often used to produce untruthful but market calming headlines. Proclaiming the goal of sending Iran to "stone age where they belong" was probably not helpful either.

Confirmed: the two VLCC oil tankers made it to the other side of the Strait of Hormuz (one carrying ~2 million of Saudi crude; the other with 2 million of Emirate crude). Of course, the key is whether this is a one-off. An third vessel, a LNG carrier, also crossed.

Everything suggests that at least ~4 million barrels of crude exited the Strait of Hormuz today. Largest outflow since the 1st day of the Third Gulf War. (... And yes, that's a fraction of the 20 million barrels a day that typically left the SoH on any given day pre-war...)
