@EarEigna These things are hilarious. Too bad they grow up
English

@zeefarmer @lukelelond Agree. I think the 1-1.5 hr waits are just a fact of life and will happen no matter what. Any longer and something is up, either broke down or completely poor management.
English

@EarEigna @lukelelond Lineups are inevitably going to happen, especially when facilities are needing to take in 4000 ton/day. I don't mind 20 min to 1 hr waits, its the 2,3,4 hour waits that really irritate me. Those are totally avoidable
English

@lukelelond @zeefarmer The only places I know that force strict unload times are crush plants and mills. I suppose elevators could get to that level where you show up outside of your dump time you aren’t allowed to dump.
I can imagine all the excuses though.
English

@lukelelond @zeefarmer Multiple companies tried booking by the hour. I don’t know that any succeeded. It’s hard enough to get people to stick to a day
They can book 2k Mon, 2k Tue, 2k Wed
It’ll show up 1k Mon, 1k Tue, 4K Wed
So should they cut off the people who miss Mon & Tue and show up Wed?
English

@lukelelond @zeefarmer Ah the utopia elevator. Staff are always on call and will open whenever the farmer wants to deliver. Never a line up. Probably never cold or windy or has bad roads to it.
Here’s a question - are lines the elevators fault or the trucks delivering?
English

@EarEigna @zeefarmer Tell me when to get it there with no lineups. I’ll be there. There is a feed mill by souris that takes grain 24/7. Try not to grow to much feed grain but when I do it’s a great place. Dumped at 3 am several times drive right in
English

@Mikesmith1919 @zeefarmer Oh dear, don’t frame it that way, you’ll cause a riot 😂
English

@zeefarmer @EarEigna Isn't the elevator the customer? They are buying your product. Why should they accommodate your hours you're not buying anything from them.
English

@zeefarmer Many can bring in 3-4k tonne a day so they can get the grain in if it’s hauled. It getting hauled is the great unknown most of the time.
Saturdays are nice for guys who work during the week but realistically I don’t think I’ve ever seen a Saturday do over 2k , most are around 1k
English

@EarEigna I get that, and have heard that from other managers about guys not showing up. It's just frustrating that they whine and hound you to get grain in, yet they seem to think it magically appears on the driveway. 8-10 hr days aren't conducive when they want to get lots of grain i
English

@Wally_53 @zeefarmer Planning for a train is hard enough, can’t try and plan for weather (and farmers) too 😂 Nobody would ever get days off.
English

@EarEigna @zeefarmer Yes Angie I sat at home on many weekends waiting to see if a train was going to show up and then only had 24 hrs to load. Then cars would sit for days. Elevators are designed to ship as fast as they can but not receive at same speed. Employees do a great job with what they have.
English

@garrett_wolf3 @KyMitch83 Farm I help calve tags calves like this and it drives me binky. He does put cows tag number above at the tag neck but it’s hard to read sometimes! It scrambles my brain some days (so hard to do!)
Should do it the other way. Cows number big, numerical number small above it 😂
English

@KyMitch83 Well, a stranger on the internet said you should change so I don’t think you have a choice now.
