Pro tip : don’t look at the dead calf as losing $3500 look at the value in the momma cow as a $3500 dollar cull .

@lalum_steve Me too...had to haul two new calves into the barn this morning because it was 10 degrees with the windchill. Was up to 42 mph gusts this morning.

Damn, I’m getting tired of the wind this spring. Feeding these young cows down in the creek to help them get out of it some.

I was feeling fancy so I added an extra panel and a snowbank "wing" to gather a couple herd bulls for semen testing today.

@6Shittalkerffs Because momma is angry sometimes and I don't have time to write a tag out 😅 I just tag in numerical order and keep a record book.

@garrett_wolf3 I see 😅 well steers and heifers get different color tags and I'm lazy so we just tag them in numerical order and I keep a record book in my pocket lol

The last of the 2025 calf crop dropped off in Lewistown for the sale tomorrow. This time before the first one of the year was born 😅

@jason_nosajdeff I'm just glad we did ours in 20° today than the -5° it was the last couple days.

@KyMitch83 It was about 70 degrees when we did ours. No frozen needles. I could get used to that.

We've bangsed heifers on colder days, but we've done it on a lot warmer days too 😅
