Christians beware of the time busy-ness takes the real thing from you. -When prayer life is reduced to bathroom prayers and OTG prayers. -When Bible study is reduced to "plug earpiece and listen to audio bible" in traffic or at work. Create time for study Have a place of prayer

An imam ordered the killing of a preacher in Nigeria. Eunice Olawale was a deaconess at the Redeemed Christian Church of God in Kubwa, Abuja. She was a mother of seven children. Every single morning at 5am, before her family woke up, she would walk out into the dark streets of Abuja with a megaphone and a Bible to preach. Nigerians call it "morning cry." Weeks before she died, she came home and told her husband that men from a nearby mosque were unhappy with her preaching. Her husband warned her to be careful. She went back out the next morning anyway. On July 9, 2016, she left the house at 5am as usual. By 5:30am, neighbours heard her voice fade mid-sentence. Then they heard her screaming "Blood of Jesus" repeatedly. When they found her, she was lying in a pool of blood on the street with stab wounds to her stomach and cuts to her neck. Her Bible was beside her. Her megaphone was beside her. Her phone was beside her. They took nothing. The only intention was to kill her. Her husband drove to the police station with two of his children and at the gate he saw a pickup van leaving with his wife's lifeless body in the back. Eight people were arrested. Six were released immediately. Five months later, police had not named a single suspect publicly. The local Imam admitted he sent young men to chase her away from the street but denied telling them to kill her. Nobody was ever charged. Nobody was ever tried. Nobody was ever convicted. Two years after her murder, her family was still publicly begging for answers. A woman killed in broad daylight with her Bible in her hand, and her killers are still free. 💔 🇳🇬

Been part of my tops while I’ll just keep appreciating other parts of new generation churches and be fine with being a visitor If you stay around new generation churches for 1 year, you will not hear or sing hymns and how can a believer stay a year without hymns??? Perfectly explains the content of our teachings and why we so struggle with consecration and being separate from the world Just take a look at these; I gave My life for thee, My precious blood I shed, That thou mightst ransomed be, And quickened from the dead; I gave, I gave My life for thee, What hast thou done for Me? I gave, I gave My life for thee, What hast thou done for Me? My Father's house of light, My glory-circled throne I left for earthly night, For wanderings sad and lone; I left, I left it all for thee, Hast thou left aught for Me? I left, I left it all for thee, Hast thou left aught for Me? I suffered much for thee, More than thy tongue can tell, Of bitterest agony, To rescue thee from hell; I've borne, I've borne it all for thee, What hast thou borne for Me? I've borne, I've borne it all for thee, What hast thou borne for Me? You can’t seriously sing this, lead your members in prayers on it and teach some very shallow teachings while allowing anyhowness We really need to go back to singing hymns and not the singing with reggae beats

@Faladynamite Brilliant! Please do you have this hymn in audio or the complete lyrics; "fade, fade each earthly joy"? I heard it once at a funeral and my soul was humbled. Searched for it but couldn't find anything close.

@Faladynamite Exactly my thoughts, you see these Hymns? The services might probably be scanty the next Sunday. Also, the faux need is funny, there are churches that are known for singing hymns but will they go there?

@Faladynamite Why would any church have issue with the wordings of these hymns? I’ve seen hymns that actually do not reflect the New Creation reality, but these ones are actually reiterating ‘the mortification of the self and flesh’. Isn’t that basically the gospel?

Person go dey talk A, una go quote con dey talk B just because it makes you sound sanctimonious or what. Some words are not necessary and yes prosperity gospel is not antichrist and the church must do all to extinguish that dangerous fire. Amen.
ChurchBoy@Faladynamite

No they won't. Hymns will expose them. Imagine singing the second stanza of "Close to thee* or of "More love to thee" in a prosgos or liberal church, secrets will be exposed. Also, hymns end with eternity linked prayers, while these churches prefer earthly relevance.

“prosgos” is a natural hit for everyone. But most assemblies will not stand the hit, it doesn’t fit their theology, it is by design. “More Love to thee oh God” “Turn your eyes upon Jesus” “When we all get to heaven”. Most people don’t understand death to self, exalting Jesus than preachers, and the constant gazing on eternity (Infact it is mostly said, “you’re being eternally conscious and earthly useless”. God help us all.

It hurts when someone asks "show me where it is in the Bible that men should cover their heads in churches"... But it simply highlights that some are very alien to the epistle of Paul to the Corinthians. Or they don't even study their Bible at all... Sighs

@Faladynamite The hurt is that they don't know their is a text like that at all or their interpretation of what it means?

I remember reading a post on this app where this guy said someone approached him to preach the gospel. He was listening, and then he thought, “If only the guy knew who I was in the spirit”
ChurchBoy@Faladynamite

The preacher in the bus and on the streets? Don't loathe them. That tract given to you? Don't reject in the name of "I'm a Christian" Let them remind you of your identity and eternal destination, there's too many distractions in the world. A gentle reminder, isn't out of place
