Female octopuses are actively throwing objects at males that won’t leave them alone. This unusual behavior has been observed in the wild, where females use shells, silt, and debris to push away persistent males. Researchers studying these interactions suggest it may be a defensive response to unwanted mating attempts, showing surprising control, awareness, and intentional behavior in these intelligent marine animals. We knew there wasn't going to be a full roster on launch, we could anticipate that there would be a heavy focus on VGC, we could expect that more items might be introduced over time- But as THE bespoke battling title, we also expected it to look and run better than this

What does surprise me about Champions is that as part of the tutorial they make the player choose to use a move with seriously lackluster animations, Bullet Seed. I think attacks generally look good, but clearly some need overhauls. pokejungle.net

@TheFamilyPlayz @Morphologis The patch has only been out for less than 2 weeks, so I don't have much of an inventory yet. Reach out in a few weeks and maybe I will be able to sell you quality materials at non-dupe inflation prices. =)

I can see why some are turned off by Star Citizen crafted items. Crafting right now is a bit too time intensive if you want stats to be above +0. We had 43 people in a coordinated mining op going for 5 hours, of 215 combined hours, and only managed enough for 7 suits of armor with a minimum of 500 quality materials. IMO they need to lower the quality minimum to start achieving higher than 0 stats, or increase the spawn rate of 500+ materials. How have your experiences been?

Look, please stop with the white-knighting. You can’t defend a system where you need dozens of players, hours of mining, special blueprint missions, and massive resources... just to craft basic equipment that barely covers your own group. Nobody here is talking about rare or epic items, just normal gear. The cost-benefit ratio is completely broken. It’s literally a net loss in time and resources. That’s not an economy, that’s a punishment. You can’t build a self-sufficient seller of your own crafted goods like this. You’d need a massive organization behind you, with tons of players basically donating their time for free, just so you can craft a few pieces of gear to sell for tiny profits. It’s pointless and thankless. Criticism is valid and needed so they can actually improve it. The only person I’ve seen defending this to be honest is you... literally everyone else I know is frustrated with it and some are already considering quitting because of stuff like this. Blind defense doesn’t help the game, it hurts it.

@TheFamilyPlayz @Morphologis Yes, which means the game is working as intended. If everyone enjoyed doing everything, the game won't ever have an economy. You can play normally and pay people who like crafting for improved items. I made my post because basic items are pretty easy to craft, so I assumed rarity

Did you actually read what I wrote? Here’s my original post again: "I completely agree. I was really looking forward to the crafting system, but the time investment, the blueprint missions, and the ridiculous resource requirements are just way over the top! It completely kills any motivation to actually do it. They urgently need to rework the entire crafting loop and drastically reduce the effort and resources required... Right now it’s completely unsuitable for solo players or small orgs. Even larger organizations don’t really benefit, because in the end you still can’t produce enough high-quality material for everyone. So with a heavy heart I’m skipping crafting entirely and just using items I loot." Nowhere in my post did I talk about rare or epic stuff. Not a single word. We were only talking about crafting itself. It eats up ridiculous amounts of time, you need special missions for the blueprints, and it demands a ton of players working together. The cost-benefit ratio is completely out of whack and needs urgent changes. There’s no need to bring up things nobody even mentioned just to defend the current crafting system. The fact is, almost every player I know is unhappy with it... and I’m one of them. That’s why I’ve personally decided to skip crafting entirely and just loot what I need. That’s my choice, and you’re free to make whatever choice works for you.

@Morphologis The comments here are really showing that CIG is doing the right thing. Mining and crafting isn't meant to be for everyone. There needs to be room for dedicated crafters in the economy, otherwise the design intent of the game falls apart. No economy if everyone can do everything.

@dias1430 @gearhartpkmn Of course they need to include evolution because it’s an adaptation from the game but the method they chose has flaws.

The fundamental difference between Pokémon's and MTG's resource systems is that card-draw doesn't require energy, but it does require mana. If you don't have energy, you can use Supporter cards to find them. If you don't have mana, you can't use most draw/search effects.

@SpaceTomatoGG @chonkrider I watched it yesterday and even though it's a year old, it still seemed very relevant. Only in the past few months has SC development really taken off, which is in line with the devs saying development was complete for SQ42. Those resources definitely got moved over to the PU.

Here's a totally-not-controversial video about why Star Citizen is taking so long (it rhymes with "Pauldron, I love you") It's an OPINION piece, released last year for supporters, but that doesn't change it's relevance, despite commentator wailing... youtu.be/jOxUqs4i_pw

Always interesting to see my stories get copied without credit, misread, repackaged with AI images, monetized through paid communities, and still outperform the original reporting. Seen it for years -- the X algorithm rewards it every time. 😆

@discolando I prefer shades closer to pastels, but that color is really pretty too. It reminds me of ocean-themed bathroom decor, which is very nostalgic to me.
