GUILD SHARDS CAN NOW BE SOLD 🫡 EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW: What is a Guild? Guilds in Pixels are a new way for players to come together in gameplay, competing for resources and territory. You can think of them as sub-communities within the greater Pixels community. Soon, there will be 4 roles associated with a Guild: Supporter, Farmer, Manager and Owner. Guild leaders will decide who gets what role, and be in charge of their own governance. Guilds will also have their own Task Board, introduced in future updates. Users will have to work together to complete these tasks as they will be much harder than the current individual-based taskboard. Additionally, Chapter 2 will introduce Discoverable and Contestable Lands that guilds can discover and compete over. Stay tuned for more details! GUILD SHARDS: What is a Shard? Owning a Shard is your way of supporting a Guild. The Supporter role is given to all members who buy a Guild Shard. Guild Shard prices follow a bonding curve. More info below ⬇️ How to purchase a Shard: To buy a Guild Shard, sign up for a Guild's Request List. This allows guild leaders to view your request and potentially give you a whitelist. Once you're on the whitelist, you'll have the ability to buy Shards for that Guild. Guild Leaders: the WL feature is optional. If turned off, anyone can purchase your Guild’s Shards. How to sell a Shard: To sell a Shard, go to the Guild's dashboard page, where you'll find the option to sell it. Click on the button as seen in the image below! What is a bonding curve? A bonding curve is a mathematical concept used in economics, setting an asset's price according to its supply. Buy more, and the price rises; sell them, and it falls. This encourages early investments and helps control the asset's supply and demand. Guild Shard prices are set by a bonding curve, meaning as more Shards are purchased, their price goes up. For instance, the first Shard costs 1 $PIXEL, and the price increases by 1 $PIXEL with each purchase. Conversely, if a Shard's current price is 10 $PIXEL, selling it will get you 10 $PIXEL and drop the next price to 9 $PIXEL. $PIXEL & GUILDS: Shard purchases: When you buy Shards with $PIXEL, the currency is locked into the Shard's value. Selling the Shard unlocks the $PIXEL, but there's a 10% selling fee: half goes to Guild Leaders and the other half to the Community Treasury. Guild Leader’s cut: As said above, 5% of the sell price goes to the Guild Leaders. It is up to the Guild to decide how to allocate these funds. HOW TO CHOOSE A GUILD: What kind of player are you? Are you interested in community building? Being part of a large community or a small one? What kind of gameplay are you interested in? What are your goals? Your answers to these questions are key in finding a Guild that aligns with your interests. Then, join our Discord, ask around, and meet new people to get a feel for what works best for you! Farm Land Associations: Land owners can associate their NFT Farm Land with a Guild. These associations will be important in future Chapter 2 gameplay. NFT Farm Lands will provide access to higher-tiered resources. Guilds can restrict access to their lands, allowing only members entry. These associations are shown on the Guild's dashboard page. WHAT’S NEXT: Guild Roles: By purchasing a Guild Shard, you automatically become a Supporter of the guild. To transition from a Supporter to an official Member, you must be assigned a higher-level role (ex. Farmer or Manager) within the Guild. This functionality will be introduced in a future update. Chapter 2: This update is set to be our largest gameplay update to date. Expect speck upgrades, the introduction of new resource tiers, the expansion of industries, and SO much more. This move will allow for the trading of land on the Mavis Marketplace, alongside the launch of NEW ART! A week from now, we will take a snapshot of all Pixels Farm Land that has been transferred to Ronin: ➡️ The first snapshot is scheduled for April 3rd at 1pm PT / 8pm UTC ➡️ By keeping your land on Ronin for each snapshot, you can qualify for all four snapshots ➡️ Make sure you have a Pixels account created as the reward will be sent in-game! EARLY ACCESS TO GUILDS OPENS TODAY 🔥 In this initial phase, the Top 20 ranked Guilds have been given 100 Shards each to distribute. These Guilds also have the option to enable Shard purchases. Owning a Shard is your way of supporting a Guild. Then, it's up to the Guild leadership to decide if they'll assign you a member role! How to purchase a Shard: To purchase a Guild Shard, join the Guild's Request List. Guild leaders can then see your request and add you to a whitelist. After being added to the whitelist, you can purchase Shards. Guild Leaders: the whitelist function is optional, but we recommend keeping it on! This gives you time to control the flow of Shard purchases. Guild Shard prices follow a bonding curve. As more Shards are bought, their price will increase. Ok, we've been collecting feedback from the community over the last couple of days and have a new plan for the Guilds rollout. Guilds is a very different type of feature we're releasing, and we really want to make sure we roll this out carefully. We have 4 main priorities around this launch. We want to make sure... 1⃣ Real guild members are the first into the guilds 2⃣ That it's really clear the value the guild is providing 3⃣ That users are properly educated on what purchasing a guild shard means 4⃣ That the launch of guilds more fair Here's the plan... 👉 We're still giving out the 100 free memberships to the top 20 guilds today 👉We're encouraging the larger guilds to form sub-guilds. But sub-guilds will not launch until the rest of the guilds launch as well 👉 We're pushing back the ability to purchase memberships for about 1-2 weeks so we can add the following features... Features we want to add before we go live... Guild Whitelists We're going to add an optional whitelist to guild shard purchasing - this will be slightly tedious for guild leaders but you'll be able to provide a list of users that are able to purchase memberships and change that as you want. You'll be able to toggle it on & off. Our recommendation would be to whitelist for a couple of days, then turn that off after your users purchase memberships. Land Assignment We're going to make it so you can see which guilds have what lands assigned to them. Each land can only be assigned to one guild (sub-guilds count as a new guild). On the guild dashboard page, you can see how many lands a guild has assigned to it. For example, TiF has 500 lands, but they'll need to clarify which sub-guild gets access to what land. YGG Superquest A @YieldGuild super quest where users will learn how bonding curves work - so they're aware of the risk And for the launch... A More Fair Launch Timeline We'll launch guild membership purchasing for the top 20 guilds first. We'll only have it exclusively open to these guilds for one day maybe two, then we'll open up guild shard purchases for all guilds. Selling Opens Shortly After Launch We'll open up selling just a couple of days after purchasing. This is because we want some time to adjust bonding curves if needed. If we adjust the bonding curve - you will not lose money or value from the adjustment. Essentially, we'll split your shards into 2 or 3, or 4. And then adjust the bonding curve the same way. So you may own double the shards, but you get half as much from selling each. Conclusion We listened! Big changes coming to the rollout of guilds - but the full release is getting pushed back slightly so we can make these adjustments!

We'll have a whitelist phase for the memberships, so those members will be able to buy memberships at a lower price before the public sale starts. 6/6
