🎮 New Features & Devices:
1️⃣ Verse Fields in UMG: Build dynamic UIs powered by Verse update data, materials, and animations directly through code!
2️⃣ Epic Developer Assistant Integration: The AI assistant is now built into UEFN, ask questions, get Verse help, and debug without leaving the editor.
3️⃣ Tycoon Feature Example: Learn best practices for Scene Graph-based Tycoon systems.
4️⃣ Sidekicks Cosmetic System: Enable or disable Sidekicks in Island Settings and control their visibility.
🛠 Device & Gameplay Updates:
🔹 NPC & Guard Spawner: Max spawn count increased from 20 ➜ 90.
🔸 Item Granter: Rename granted items and manage equip behavior.
🔹 New Teleporter options: Conserve Prop Momentum + Cooldown properties.
🔸 108 new outfits added across Character, Guard, and NPC devices!

⚠️ Known Issues:
🔸 UMG Widgets with nested View Bindings may show compile errors on launch (temporary workaround available).
📊 Monetization Update:
Now using the updated Engagement Payout Formula, including User Acquisition Rewards for new and returning players. Payouts start December 30.

It’s understandable that some creators feel frustrated, but let’s be real...
What other maps are bringing players back to Fortnite day after day like these and affecting the player count?
Ultimately, this is a business. Fortnite has been known to show love to maps that make waves and hold strong engagement across the player base, this is nothing new.

#UEFN Verse 33/100 – Lesson (3) with @TwinFortnite
🎨 Creating UI dynamically with loops
The biggest upside to using this method is how easy it is to expand 🔧
All you need to do is add another stack box data entry, and everything just works — no need to worry about positioning since stack boxes handle that automatically
It makes UI creation way less frustrating and actually fun since you’re kinda building a better/less tedious way of doing something instead of hardcoding every single value which coding is all about💡
At its core, this method use a stack boxes with ordered widgets inside them, created dynamically in a for loop 🔁
In this example, each widget is a stack box containing several elements. To make this work, we need to define the data for those elements beforehand 🧩
That means creating a class that holds the data we’ll fill, and a way to access it safely so we don’t accidentally use the wrong stack box data
Instead of having separate arrays for each weapon type (like assault, shotgun, or pistol) a better approach is to use a map
That way, we can dynamically access the correct stack box data using a key 🤯 (we used a string here, but ideally you’d use an enum or int).
In CreateCanvas(), we loop through all the keys we need, call a function to get the stack box data using that key (GetStackBox()), and either retrieve the existing data or create a new one if it doesn’t exist and it's key
This makes the whole UI system flexible and scalable 🚀
Another UI lesson I think I’ve finally worked through all my weak spots with Verse UI (and even picked up some UMG improvements) 💪

#UEFN Verse 31/100 – Scene Graph Basics 🚀
Scene Graph (SG) is the future of both UE and UEFN — that’s what @TimSweeneyEpic and Epic have been saying for the past year.
So, it’s time to start learning it!
🧩 What Is Scene Graph?
Scene Graph operates with Entities and Components — but what exactly are they?
Entities – Think of them as big, empty boxes that hold a bunch of components.
Components – Behaviors or properties attached to entities, such as mesh_component or light_component or custom Verse components.
⚙️ Working with Scene Graph in Verse
First, you need to know what you’re trying to do.
For example, if you want to run logic based on whether a specific component exists, you can do something like the image bellow that checks if there are interactable components in the Entity if so it does its logic.
But the real power of components comes when you start creating custom components in Verse — ones that have their own functionality. That’s where things get huge. Sadly, there aren’t many resources out there yet, but I’ve got a few scripts using this approach that I’ll be posting about soon👀.
💡 Why I’m Loving Scene Graph
What’s amazing about SG is how reusable and clean it is. The biggest reason I’m falling in love with it is how little editable linking it needs unlike the nightmare that is Creative devices. Plus, being able to override things inside prefabs is a game-changer.
🧠 Best Way to Learn SG
Start by understanding the basics and the API, then experiment like crazy. If that second part sounds tough right now, stick with Creative devices until you’re a bit more comfortable.
Learning Scene Graph isn’t just about learning Verse and it’s about embracing the programming mindset behind it.

General Physics incoming ⛹️♂️
In v37.40, General Physics will enter Beta so you can publish islands with dynamic, physics-enabled gameplay. Players will be able to push, topple, hit, and move objects in more engaging ways.
