Richie Wellens speaks ahead of Saturday's game against Wycombe Wanderers 👇
#LOFC#OneOrient
Big game tomorrow, i'd take a draw at this stage with a good defensive performance. Main thing is to not regress back to the crap we saw at the Bradford game. #lofc
@millarpresident@TheUntoldGame@OrientOutlook Initially maybe, on the short term deal. But in my opinion, afterwards, he did enough to justify a longer deal. His performances (and quite frankly most of the teams performances) since have not been good enough.
@TheUntoldGame@Garicko7@OrientOutlook I think he does get targeted because he is Wellens son, but you have to remember he only got signed because he's Wellens son.
"He looks lost", totally sums him up for me as he spends the majority of the game ambling around the midfield with the game passing him by.
Out of interest who deal with transfer negotiations now? I’m hoping it’s Travis, so he can tell anyone after Ballard about how many businesses he runs. With any luck he’ll put them to sleep and we can keep the kid for another year #lofc
@TheUntoldGame@OrientOutlook He's not the only one under performing, and he isn't immune to criticism, I'm critical of him also. I just think he's unfairly targeted because of who he is, but as I've heard recently, it's a matter of opinions, and i welcome yours. I enjoy twitter debates. #lofc
@Garicko7@OrientOutlook But I don’t want to keep slagging him. He’s been better for the last eight day, and I’ll stick to my opinion but feels harsh to be kicking at him after three wins on the spin 😂
@TheUntoldGame@OrientOutlook If we’d had another midfielder on a short term contract, who’s surname wasn’t Wellens, and they got 2 goals and 2 assists in 9 games, would you think that was worthy of a contract? Seems like he’s a scapegoat in a vastly underperforming team, because of who his dad is.
@Garicko7@OrientOutlook He put some numbers on the board, but his performances weren’t up to scratch then either.
He got the longer contract in part because of his dad, and in part because we were so wrecked by injuries and he’ll play anywhere (which is a genuine positive for any player).
@TheUntoldGame@OrientOutlook Between him signing the short term deal and the long term deal he played nine times and got two goals and two assists in that time. He hasn’t lived up to it since I agree, but I fail to understand the nepotism argument when he put in performances worthy of a contract.
@Garicko7@OrientOutlook I’ll hold my hands up and say he’s upped his game the last three outings.
But he’s not League One quality. His positional play is atrocious and his awareness is lacking.
In a season they told us was building on a playoff final, he was signed because of who his dad is.
@Orientsphincter@OrientOutlook He has been shit at times but he’s also had quality moments, I’m hopeful for the future he’s only young. Get that not everyone feels that way though.
@Orientsphincter@OrientOutlook You and I disagree on things but it’s always respectful and I’m grateful for that. Fair enough.
But good idea, gonna refer to him as the Salford Pirlo from now on.
@Garicko7@OrientOutlook But when you making sweeping statements at the start as if he’s Pirlo I’ll call it as I see it
Whether that’s right or wrong
You don’t see nepotism
I do
But that’s cool
@Orientsphincter@OrientOutlook There was competition in the first half, the back four being amongst them. He’s by no means our best player, but my argument has always been that he was signed for the right reasons, that’s all.
@Garicko7@OrientOutlook Literally knew 200 people went to tonight and he was our worst player again mate
You can feel different that’s cool
But he’s the weakest link
Truth hurts
@OrientOutlook Poor defensively first half, brilliant second half. Credit to the manager for the tactical changes, and to the defense for sorting themselves out second half. Dom Ballard, what a player. A good result at the weekend and we really start to pull away from the drop.
YYYYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSS
What a night in SW London for #lofc as we bring all 3 points back to E10!
Superb performances all over the pitch but special mention to hattrick hero Dom Ballard who is now on 21 goals for the season.
Thoughts?
@Garicko7@mebaker2001@OrientOutlook Brilliant cross for the goal
Didn’t do much else though
Definitely the weakest player in the side
But it’s a team game
YYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS…
It’s Ballard at the double as the O’s take the points with a 2-1 win at Stevenage.
Thoughts on tonight? #LOFC
YYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS…
The Orient win again as goals from Jack Simpson & Tyreeq Bakinson see the O’s beat Posh 2-1.
Thoughts on today? #LOFC
