@jay__o86 @BarnsleyFC I think the changes are good, the worry should be when an ownership group are pushing this. I understand fans and the league pushing it but when an ownership group are I would worry about their future plans.

@OrientBanter @BarnsleyFC I dont think its about being fan owned or not more having a model that makes clubs more self sufficient

Barnsley FC welcome the news of changes to the existing Salary Cost Management Protocol (SCMP) rules, with the aim of ensuring clubs are more financially stable and less open to the risks of owner funding. Full story ⤵️ barnsleyfc.co.uk/news/2026/may/…

🇪🇸The O's are off to Murcia Spain for preseason, hopefully we have a more complete squad traveling this time, yes the warm weather training is good but the bonding is vital 🇪🇸

@jay__o86 @BarnsleyFC It's always been like this, that being said the biggest struggles financial this season in League One was fan owned Exeter.

@OrientBanter @BarnsleyFC Surely it means there's a risk clubs become solely reliant on owners to prop them up, owners can bail at any point and leave the club in a mess?

One thing that was overlooked during Richies last interview was Leyton Orient changing its approach to more data driven recruitment. Dan McLoonie has previously worked at Millwall as both an Analyst and Technical Scout, so in theory should be perfect to head up the change. How do fans feel about the change from Lingy's Black Book and Coffee Percolator to Data & Analytics? ⭕⚪ #LOFC #OneOrient

@leytonorientfc I feel this is all the proof you need that the Wellens family have no intention of moving up to Huddersfield, Leicester or Blackburn. Great for stability but a much faster start will need to be made rather than our normal slow slog.

@leytonorientfc These will sell in no time at all, the resurgence in the EFL when it comes to attendances is amazing. Remember even in the 00s where we struggled to get near 5000, excited to see how much we can grow with a bigger stadium and sensible prices

I've not been that interested when it comes to the play offs this season but the thought of Salford City making it to League One irritates me. Gary Neville talking about being a club of the people while only having an average attendance of 3000 is wild. We hear about you giving fans back their identity but remember you were part of the red rebranding. This is a purely football opinion and not based on his politics.

@OfficialScottyT Of course, I think for big game atmospheres this could be an alternative way to the more traditional match day experiences. I can't see how it's manageable week in and week out throughout the league but it's really interesting to witness

@OrientBanter County were doing this in the National League. I think it's great. It's easy for the youth to support a bigger, more successful side (esp in Stockport) so the fact they aren't is a refreshing change.

Why does it bother people like you so much? Not Everyone has to have a pint in the pub until 10 mins before kick off. Clearly they wanna make an atmosphere. Don’t see why that upsets so many ppl.
Orient Banter@OrientBanter

Where has this marching to the game with coloured smoke and flags come from? I saw the Stockport fans doing the same yesterday. Times have changed from having a pre match pint, realising its ten to three and having to quickly stumble to the ground for kick off. ⭕⚪ #LOFC #OneOrient #LeytonOrient

Players In Classic Shirts 🟡🔵 It's clear to say we haven't seen a fully fit Will Forrester in a Leyton Orient shirt so far, but what we have seen is passion, commitment and many fist pumps. Do you still see Will leading us into next season? #LOFC #OneOrient

@9yrspodcast Saying that I think the old club is dead and not MK Dons. You are the spiritual successor to what made that club great at the start. All MK Dons took was the league placement

As an Orient fan I like AFC Wimbledon but it's not the same club .. you're better than the one that left to become MK Dons. Anyone that remembers knows just how toxic the old club became, the low attendance and termoral. You took the remaining fans and made it what it should have been.

Loads of photos from on this day in 1988 on social media. A team wearing blue and yellow; fans waving those colours; the name 'WIMBLEDON' everywhere. The team from PLOUGH. LANE. Shove it if you think this ain't the same club. #AFCW
