🚨 JUST IN: Manchester United are tracking Adam Wharton as a potential summer transfer target. The 22-year-old is believed to be ready for the next step in his career and wants to move to a Champions League club. He is under contract until 2029, but given Palace's recent big sales (Olise for £60M & Eze for £67.5M), a move could cost United a significant fee. United are monitoring several Premier League midfielders: Wharton, Anderson, Tonali, Baleba & Alex Scott. [@samuelluckhurst]

The dream signings for United for me this summer would be Anderson, Wharton and Baleba But I suspect we’ll go after Baleba and Tonali, as their fees will be much less than the other 2 Still think we need 3 CMs though myself, along with Kobbie Then maybe a LB late on? #MUFC

Exactly Where as picking a midfield 2 from Kobbie and Ugarte should have every alarm bell ringing To compete next season, especially if we get CL, United should blow all the budget on Anderson, Baleba AND Wharton Anderson or Baleba at 6 Kobbie or Wharton at 8 #MUFC

Do we actually need a CB even if Harry Maguire goes? Matthijs de Ligt - Leny Yoro Lisandro Martinez - Ayden Heaven Decent, balanced options for a back four. Maybe one required for extra cover, but I don’t think much of the budget should go towards that.

If I was running United, I would sign all those three players this summer. Kind of like what United did for the forwards last summer. Before you scream in my comments that it’s not possible to sign 3 big midfielders, please let me know what you were saying about signing 3 forwards last year in March.

@utdrobbo Yeah, I mean in my mind Anderson is the 6, but Tonali or Wharton would be competing with Kobbie at 8, not complementing him Personally I think we need 3 CM's anyway this summer. Ideally Anderson plus 1 for the 6 and Wharton to compete with Mainoo for the 8 LOTS of games coming

@AdamJoseph Yeah man, it’s a fair point But City don’t feel like a real rival to me- they’re fake, manufactured For me, the worst case scenario is Liverpool win, closely followed by Leeds After that for me it’s Arsenal, born out of that late 90’s rivalry City are nothing

@HowlinWhite Oh they mean absolutely zero. I'd rather Arsenal win because cheating should never be rewarded in any capacity. It's a stain on the sport that doesn't wash out.

Mikel Arteta supported & actively promoted Thomas Partey. City are the biggest cheats English football has ever seen & are a state-owned sportswashing play thing - I never want to see them win anything - but when Arteta & Arsenal lose, that is what I think about.

As I’ve been saying since Carrick took over- the switch back to 4-2-3-1 means there has to be an odd man out Amad, Cunha or Mbeumo? It’s always been one of Amad or Mbeumo for me- those 2 should be competing for the slot on the right #MUFC

One thing which is clear; Benjamin Sesko must be starting games from now on. In his short cameo, he showed his qualities aside from goal scoring. His hold-up and link-up play was just elite. He's becoming better and better in the air and is growing more confident too.

Last summer, I had debates with many tacticos about whether midfield or forward line should have been our priority. Don’t get me wrong. I wanted a midfield signing, but not at the cost of a forward. My argument was your priority position for the transfer market depends on how much you rate Casemiro. I rated Casemiro as a good option to be a starter and most tacticos did not. That’s the reason they argued for Baleba signing over Sesko or Mbeumo. To me, it was clear that we had to rebuild that attack first. All that said, we should have signed a midfielder in addition to Sesko/Cunha/Mbemo.
