@Megatron605 @joel_norris7 @EvanMiya No I think it was because of the team with one of the highest foul rates in the country (Texas). Purdue regularly played games in under 2 hours this year. Texas didn’t play a single SEC game in under 2 hours this year.

This is why I wrote prior to selections that Injuries should have no impact on inclusion or seeding. You are your record. Everything else in category is a guess. Needs to change.

In this interview on the Selection Show, chair Keith Gill indicated that the committee's belief that BJ Edwards would be available for the NCAA Tournament tipped the balance to make SMU the last team selected. The Mustangs lost four of their last five games while Edwards was injured. SMU told the committee and the public that Edwards would be available for the NCAA Tournament. Now we learn that he will not play tonight vs. Miami (Ohio). I understand that injuries and availability can be an inexact science, so we should not be quick to assign motives. But it is highly unusual for an injury to have this much consequence on selection, only to have the information prove to be incorrect. There needs to be a full accounting as to what happened and why, and how much the information that SMU provided to the committee was a factor in this decision. It goes directly to the integrity of the process. I hope this question will be further addressed and clarified in the coming days. In the meantime, I hope we get a great game!

@TylerSmith_ISL @_alanstewart But the only teams that matter would be teams you have advancing far. If you have a 5 seed winning one game then losing to a 4 in the second round, it makes sense to just change it to the 12 winning since that one point likely won’t matter

If a higher seed has a way better chance of getting double, triple, or quadruple points by winning a few more times.. picking an upset worth 1 would be pointless.

@TylerSmith_ISL @_alanstewart If first round games are worth so little, that’s exactly why you would pick upsets. You only really need to worry about your champion so can go wild with upsets early if you want

@_alanstewart it's more important, but not important enough to guarantee you win the bracket by picking it. I've seen some trash brackets end up winning because of that lol. Under that format, I would never pick an upset if it's only worth 1 point/ only a fourth of what two rds later are

@mathias330972 @barryisthedon Wisconsin drew the worst 12 seed. Both NC state and Texas would be sizable favorites over High Point. High Point also has to travel even further than Wisconsin. This is a very nice draw and people like you would be complaining if it was the other way around
