Billionaire @TexasTech booster Cody Campbell is spending a lot of money on TV ads to convince you -- and Congress -- college sports needs to replace @NCAA to survive. It's preposterous. And self-serving. And I'm happy to show where his arguments are wrong: sportingnews.com/us/ncaa-footba…

@TD250925 They inflate their metrics by beating good teams, same as the SEC and Big 12

@tsnmike Not the point - too many big ten teams every year - because they inflate their own metrics. PLEASE NOTE - ALL BIG TEN Games are NOT Q1?!!!!!! Coming up on 3 decades of Mis-Seeding

Maybe a misplacing the argument. But in terms of conversation on who should be seeded where based on injury context, I bring him up. Cincinnati was an obvious #1 seed for months until he went down with the broken leg in the conference tournament. They dropped them to two and the committees justification for that was his injury. Now that was 26 years ago, and a lot has changed. But I could easily see an argument that Duke should not have been the #1 overall seed because of the injuries. This is the precedent.

@Steelers4evr @T_Oglesby22 The system is fine. You either maximize your opportunities or you don’t. The way in college basketball is to not, and blame it on everybody else.

@tsnmike Yes - rules change to enhance the EOG. It happens in all leagues. It happens because it’s BETTER for the game. In bball, this list benefits one team: stopping the clock after a made basket; the RA circle; adjusted block/charge rule; relaxed continuation (all offense)!

It took two seconds for the committee To get one wrong. Siena is not a 16

@tsnmike Agreed, but committee always brings it up for P5 when they get in with mediocre record

@pearsonjeff NHL doesn’t enhance the end of a regular game. It changes overtime so the game ends rapidly. The same for baseball. The second base rule affects both teams equally. Advancing the ball does not. And NFL even changed overtime rule to assure equal treatment of both teams. Duh

@tsnmike You don’t watch sports very much do you? Guess you haven’t seen the end of MLB extra inning games or NHL overtimes or NFL overtimes - which, since you don’t watch them - ALL have special rules in place to enhance the end of game situations. 🤦‍♂️

@TheWazISU But that's not how the process works. If the process isn't consistent, we get bad results. Duke had wins against 2 of the 3 1s. That's hard to beat. I think Arizona is the most dangerous team, but they were not 1 overall.

@tsnmike I realize that this is the eye test, but gut-feeling is Arizona should have been the top overall seed. They had a single bad week in the season, and have otherwise beat everyone else they've played. And I'm saying this as an Iowa State fan.

@tsnmike Inquires only counts for P5; example Dayton losing streak partly due to injuries and recovering from injury

In four decades of covering @MarchMadnessMBB, i’ve been blessed to see many great teams. Only one could be the best. That was 1996 @KentuckyMBB. If you were there, reminisce a little bit. If you weren’t, you should know the history of The Untouchables. sportingnews.com/us/ncaa-basket…

@tsnmike Would’ve made for a more exciting ending if Ohio State was able to advance to half court on that timeout, instead of throwing up a half court shot.
