@DrBenTapper1 2005 working in MN East of Fargo/ Moorhead and walked thru a DNR/ Fish and Wildlife natural area. Must have walked thru a wood tick nest as I got back to the pickup and noticed my jeans were crawling with them. Pulled off >90 of them. Like a horror movie scene!! They are around!

Right outside my office sits two wind turbans that have never turned, they have been there since 2009, $10 million dollars they cost, today they are being demolished, "expect explosions" at 9:15. What a waste of money. Good job MN. picture is from earlier this year.

@MissinCurfew The “one piece” - went thru the transition in high school 2002-2004. I stuck with the shaft and switch out blades. Too frugal and slow to adapt! Still have a collection of them babies in my hockey bad I’ve been dragging with to weekly men’s league for the last 20+ years. Lol.

If this was the thinking going into the war, then 1) they would have done more to prepare, and 2) they would have bet on a disruption of a few days, at most. It's been a week. It will likely be longer. At this point, there's no avoiding some considerable economic impacts.

Trump on oil prices: “… We figured oil prices would go up, which they will […] They’ll also come down. They’ll come down very fast. And we will have gotten rid of a major, major cancer on the face of the Earth…” The White House seems to be betting now it can end the war quickly enough that the impact of the surge in oil prices doesn’t last enough to hit the economy (and spread into other energy commodities). Let’s see.

@MaryCKenn Interesting info and explains what likely happened yesterday was my original thought on response. I was surprised our local basis hasn’t budged after seeing your basis message. We’re almost dead center PNW market vs Mankato or Dawson it seams though with freight.

@MaryCKenn No change for us at local elevator in WCMN. -1.10 Nov / -1.05 Jan timing. Improved since harvest but still not historically poor. Crop wasn’t great here either. Lot less in commercial hands then normal. Less bean acres, less yield, more in farm bins.

@SchwabMatt Probably not a one year management result. Guessing that area has a long history of heavy manure and soil tests are off the charts. Fertility matters for big soybean yields! We can still see old cow yards on yield maps 50 plus years since the last cow was on the farm.

So it turns out my best soy beans were in a field, where I winter yarded my mama cowherd. It was muddy and rutted. Planted late, no fertilizer, sprayed once for weeds, and no other management.
