@fractalcounty The problem is that the public sphere cannot and will not sit in the place of nuanced and evenhanded critique. The consuming public has always been a world of extremes. Good, helpful company can only be found in earnest friends and good-faith peers.

I spent 5 years on this website complaining about toxic positivity and 'let people enjoy things' culture and now that we've finally over-corrected I'm realizing both ends of the pendulum might be equally miserable
