Sone (potentially) interesting notes from trading gold:
1) Bought the ETF because it seemed simpler and I'd be able to borrow against it but limited trading hours really sucked. Probably should of trades the future and handled the roll. Especially considering the favorable tax treatment for short term gains
2) In crypto I've become relatively eager to sell aggressive pumps. Because it was "Gold" and I had a long term thesis I decided to sit on it. Pretty dumb in retrospect and just goes to show if you make a years profit in 1 month, probably just take it
3) Once a position is crowded its less likely to behave as expected. E.g. Israel-Iran war should be a bullish catalyst but everybody being positioned for it and massively in profit leads to a "sell the news" event that shakes out all the weak hands that entered late
4) Lower on positive news should also trigger spidey senses
Being a hobbyist macro trader isn't the most efficient or +EV use of my time but im way too hipster to just buy & hold equity indices so here we are

Skimmed the timeline. Traders are just chasing the tape. Literally the same bulls that thought you could TA missile launches to early victory have flipped bearish on endless war.
