I can't believe there was a time when we used to take ₦500 to school as pocket money. You will buy rice, spaghetti, egg and meat and you won't even spend up to ₦400. That same ₦500 can't get you a pack of biscuits. This country is gone.

You no add the laughing emoji 😭 Okay get this, we hadn’t been together up to 6 months and he sprung a proposal on me. Now I noticed he just wanted to get married because he had plans to leave the country. Personally I wanted someone that was in love with me and was choosing me because “I’m the air they breathe”, if you get what I mean. He wasn’t a bad person at all, but the relationship hadn’t gone on long enough for me to be emotionally invested enough to commit to something as serious as marriage. I didn’t know how to tell him then, reason I kept stalling, but I’m glad it ended the way it did. We both got what we wanted at the end.

Someone proposed to me, ring and all. I said yes but I wasn’t really sure and didn’t know how to say no, so I stalled telling my family for a formal introduction to be made. He kept asking and I kept stalling. 3 months later, he uploaded prewedding photos on his WhatsApp status. I didn’t argue or anything, just sent him a congratulatory message and he replied with a “thank you”. I sold the ring (it was pure gold about 3.5grams when the stones were removed), went on a vacation with my girls, and moved on with life.
