Fun episode where I got to ramble about how I’m valuing rookie picks, the tiers I want to be in, and reviewed some real trades!
Thomas Tipple@ElNostraThomas

We had @RyanJ_Heath on for The Market Report and we talked about the value of 2nd round rookie picks this year and where this class compares to years passed in value. Top tier episode and a completely different vibe than the Weds regular on @FantasyPts. fantasypoints.com/media/podcasts…

I'm incredibly excited to be throwing my hat and my rookie model in the ring this year. So excited that I wrote nearly 10,000 words on the analytics profiles of 15 different TEs in this class for fantasy football. No paywall for these. Check it out! fantasypoints.com/nfl/articles/2…

I've updated my dynasty rankings to reflect all the transactions over the past couple weeks. Things I'm noticing: - Michael Mayer is in a contract year - Mondre/Montgomery are the cheap, unsexy RBs I'm most interested in - Jayden Higgins a quiet winner fantasypoints.com/nfl/rankings/d…

The back end of Round 1 of the NFL Draft is where WRs lacking elite analytical profiles go to ruin dreams and get people fired. Since 2017, eight WRs have been selected between picks 15 and 32 with a 90th-percentile or better production score in my model: Jaxon Smith-Njigba Marquise Brown CeeDee Lamb Rashod Bateman Jerry Jeudy Treylon Burks Emeka Egbuka Justin Jefferson Not all hits, but plenty of good players and three confirmed elites in that cohort. Not bad! But what about guys drafted between picks 15 and 32 with BELOW a 90th percentile production score? In order of production score: Jordan Addison N'Keal Harry Calvin Ridley Jahan Dotson Xavier Worthy DJ Moore Quentin Johnston Brandon Aiyuk Xavier Legette Zay Flowers Kadarius Toney Jalen Reagor Brian Thomas Jr. Ricky Pearsall Matthew Golden There are some good players here, but not a single superstar, and several outright busts. My thought would be that this is the area where "toolsy" players and "speedy deep threats" who lack proven production are often pulled up, or good-but-needy teams (somewhat understandably) make reaches to try to maximize their contention windows. It's also where our expectations often run high due to "elite landing spots" and "Round 1 draft capital", with the prospect profile getting lost. I call this the Crest of Disappointment. Denzel Boston, K.C. Concepcion, and Omar Cooper all now project to be drafted near this range. That doesn't mean they're all going to bust, but it does mean you should ask yourself about the reasons they're getting this level of draft capital. Is it for Calvin Ridley reasons, or Jalen Reagor reasons? Where their production scores would fit in on the above list: Boston: between Xavier Worthy and DJ Moore Concepcion and Cooper: between DJ Moore and Quentin Johnston

@RyanJ_Heath I won’t say I am more down on the class now than I was before the combine. I think we just have more confirmation that these guys are who they are. I think more RBs we were interested in testing would raise the class stock a little

Biggest winners and losers from the Combine at the RB position! Honestly, I left even more down on this class in total than I already was. Read why: fantasypoints.com/nfl/articles/2…

@DBro_FFB @Drew3MR UT* did some serious schematic changes this year with their WR routes and splits this year. The protection was very different in the 2nd half of the season, so it is tough to tell if the dip in production was due to better schemes, double coverage, or lack do protection

@Drew3MR He’s a better route runner than any recent TEN WR and didn’t live in stacked and bunch formations in 2025 like previous TEN WRs.
