What the regime does so incredibly well is managed decline, meaning, they ratchet down quality of life bit by bit, but make each ratchet down cool and desirable. Decrepit becomes sexy. Living on credit becomes distinctly a part of the American struggle. They create the portrait of a sexy rebel being held down by the man, even though they are the man doing the holding down.
To avoid this, they create a phantom "the man," in this instance non-existent white WASPY RW billionaires (see eg One Battle After Another), to point the finger that, that exists somewhere off in the distance, barely visible but obviously evil.

@DisgracedProp He’s from my hometown. He blew up nationally after Mac Miller died. I think he’s an industry plant, but I fail to see how the existence of plants, this music video, or sampling “First Class” (a girly 2000’s pop song) proves that “the regime” wields this to glorify ghetto behavior
