Not posted on here for ages. But I wanted to share this wee update. Our crafting area is becoming more and more popular and kids expect me to just know how to do stuff! Today I was asked to make a bus! There is nothing I won't try and work out for the kids! Here is my bus!

Zen Zone mark 2. Shifted inside as the shed was not being used. We found we didn't need the zen zone outside as when we are outside, we are all pretty happy. So, making use of a poorly used dumping cupboard seemed the sensible route. ❤️

I'm wearing @loopearplugs today for the 1st time. I'm leaving work, not feeling drained, and not feeling exhausted. My day has been no different from normal. But my head is clear, and the sensory overload from noise just hasn't happened today!!!

Hard work to get our indoor ODL den sorted. It's starting to look like a proper wee space. Need to hoover the rugs as too many wellies have trampled them in their last location. #NewZenZone

We are painting today. Having a shuffle and our wasted space cupboard is becoming our outdoor learning, indoor den!

South Ayrshire Council’s FOI response is shocking—🚨they claim to have NO data on how many Newly Qualified Teachers (NQTs) secured permanent posts, no records of staff numbers across permanent, fixed-term, or casual supply roles, and no information on how many contracts were handed out in each category over the last three years🚨 This comes just days after John Swinney stated in Parliament that the Scottish Government works with councils to plan the teacher workforce. How can effective workforce planning happen when multiple councils, like South Ayrshire, say they don’t even hold basic employment information? This raises serious questions about how councils are managing their teaching staff and how decisions are being made about the future of Scotland’s teachers. ❌ Teachers deserve transparency, not empty promises. This is an unacceptable failure in accountability that cannot be ignored. ❌ #Teachers4Perm

@The_RHS The tattie soup we made for tonight's healthy living fayre at the school. Onions and tatties from school garden! Massive pot went down a treat with fayre visitors. Disappeared in about 20mins! 😁❤️

So sad. Every inshore plankton sample I collect contains microplastic pollution. Yesterday's sample was no exception. The body of this dinoflagellate is ~ 50 µm diameter (0.05 mm). The plastic microfibre is ~ 10 µm diameter. (A human hair is ~ 70 µm.) The shocking scale of it. @Zeiss_micro

A wee reward extension period today. After working so safely with Bunsen burners today we investigated flame colours! "BEST LESSON OF MY LIFE" was the feedback fron kids 🤩

STEM club

Next week, we will take part in a Healthy Living Fayre. This week, we are preparing our mock-up stall. On the night, our soup made from our garden harvest will be available to taste, and we plan to give away the rest of our produce to share the bounty 😃 @RHSSchools

Yr 8: Carbon cycle

Today we found lots of purple beetles rumming around our space. They were just beuatiful 🤩😍
