The victory of the opposition in Hungary yesterday, like the Polish election in 2023, is a victory for democracy, not just in Europe but around the world. Most of all, it’s a testament to the resilience and determination of the Hungarian people – and a reminder to all of us to keep striving for fairness, equality and the rule of law.

Let us allow ourselves to be transformed by the peace of Christ! Let us make heard the cry for peace that springs from our hearts! For this reason, I invite everyone to join me in a prayer vigil for peace that we will celebrate here in Saint Peter’s Square next Saturday, April 11. #Easter

I don’t see any reason why UK broadcasters can’t broadcast the Trump language in full, especially post-watershed. It‘s revealing , and shouldn’t be censored or treated as normal.

"I have studied every air campaign since WWI... I've modelled the bombing of Fordow and regime change in Iran for 20 years... We are now in the grip of the escalation trap... This has never worked in over 100 years... Trump is up against the weight of history" - @ProfessorPape.

@rburgessbbc @BBCNews I think @BBCNews is *failing* in this respect. There is a lack of bite, curiousity+boldness in holding to account UK political parties on their funding+what funders want in return. I believe BBC, as with #Epstein, will come to regret that lack,+more importantly, so will we. 3/

I have an anxious, deaf technophobic relative in her 90s Could @Apple make a simpler version of FaceTime that keeps all icons on the screen with options that don’t depend on touch. Maybe assisted by AI? It shd keep camera & mic on and use text icons like Ring John or End Call.

@AppleSupport I have a technophobic, slightly deaf and anxious relative in her 90s who can’t deal with changes to apps like FaceTime. Would it be possible for Apple to create an AI assisted version that keeps all icons locked on the screen so they don’t depend on touch?

Peter Mandelson has just resigned from the Lords. Here’s a timeline of his emails with Epstein and Parliamentary statements on similar subjects. Compiled with the help of ChatGPT so the usual warnings apply: (a starting point to be checked!)

@rogermosey These were not programme reviews by producers of their own output — but properly conducted they allowed producers to hear what their peers and others thought. The maintenance of editorial standards was an important part of it.

@rogermosey I wonder if there’s merit in delegating the some roles of the Committee to more flexible local structures. Eg prior to 97, the old WS English Programmes Dept would hold regular reviews of output with guests from outside. Language service output was also scrutinised. More..

This is a sensible response by the #BBC to the recent editorial crisis. It’s a good start in greater accountability about journalistic practices, and how policy evolves over time. bbc.co.uk/mediacentre/20…

#Grok says a hidden 157.34-day periodicity in ~180 “non-repeating” FRBs from the publi #CHIME+#ASKAP catalogs. Bursts cluster into two razor-sharp phase bins 0.5 cycles apart (p ≈ 10⁻⁷ after trials). Looks like many one-offs are actually periodic sources being occulted/lensed.

After reading reports of the latest Trumpian ‘peace’ plan for #Ukraine, the worst possible scenario now seems a real possibility: Trump and his lunatic advisors are so incompetent that there’s would not be much difference if Moscow was directly dictating US foreign policy.

Why does today remind me of Sept 30, 1938 ? The #Munich agreement didn’t bring peace — appeasement didn’t work then and it won’t work today. #Ukraine
