Coast crews rolled out early this morning to assist our northern division following yesterday’s severe weather. Our storm team worked overnight throughout our service territory safely restoring service to nearly 80% of impacted customers. Mississippi Power offices will be closed on Monday, Jan.19 in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Our employees will take this “day off” and turn it into a “day on” by serving in our communities in Dr. King’s honor.

Reliability upgraded in Quitman ✔️ Crews worked overnight to add and upgrade equipment to the substation feeding the city of Quitman without any interruptions of service to our residential customers. This provides added redundancy and improved reliability for our Quitman customers.

This year, the Mississippi Power Foundation invested in scholarships for 49 students to have hands-on learning experiences with water safety, environmental stewardship and marine life through the Maritime and Seafood Industry Museum’s Sea and Sail Camp. We hope to inspire the next generation of STEM leaders as they head back to school!
