One actively defamed the other person and ruined their career (she literally went to Hollywood big wigs to get him out of things)

@feminist_tokyo But sometimes a series just isn’t available at all. For example in my country you cannot watch or purchase Durarara anywhere. It’s not available to be streamed and nowhere sells DVDs. So unless you luck out and find one second hand the only choice is pirating (which sucks)

@feminist_tokyo For both manga and anime I think it’s safe to say people watch/read it almost wherever it’s available. The most common one is probably Crunchyroll as it is the largest holder for streaming rights. Sometimes the only option is DVD (generally about 4000 yen a DVD)

@kakei_mikoto @V7NnRqa0uZbvFqZ Not really. It’s dependent on your country. A volume of Berserk costs $60-$80aud as compared to a $10 comic. Even the cheapest stuff like JJK costs about $20. And that’s if the series is even sold (most aren’t). Piracy rarely happens due to price but due to availability

@innocence_SAC This also goes for Japanese film and television. Certain things never get a western release or are not released in my home country (this goes for both a dubbed over series or an original translation series). This means without pirating I literally have no way to access it

@innocence_SAC Outside of people who are actually scummy the vast majority of people who pirate Japanese media do it because it is simply not available otherwise. Half the manga I read have never gotten an English translation (this includes massive series like JoJo)

@ChaosHusk I don’t really think that overhauling the weapons would fix the issue people have with it though. The armour a little but at least for the weapons people’s issue lies with running the exact same content for a 2% boost. It’s why the weapons reused in Into The Light were a success

Yeah, I disagree with them community as its atl something new for alot of people to like farm or engage with, BUT I do see and understand why people would be annoyed. I feel a better version of that would be to overhaul *every* raid and dungeon weapon/armor that would make sense similar to what theyre doing in June cause it provides newer not powercrept rewards to the older activities.

Maybe a hot take; i was one of the people that didnt mind reused content or recycled content in Destiny 2, i was just happy to have somehting to do even if it was recycled because thats how i saw the game. I understood why people complained and still do however for me and how i enjoyed the game, recycled content or not i was happy, its upsetting to see such a lack of any content whatsoever. I do hope they bring back the old raids, the tangled shore and its strike (my personal favorite) while were at it. as long as there was more to play id be happy

@ChaosHusk Sorry I probably should have elaborated further. Things like recycling the last wish weapons for the third time and acting like that is a substitute for new content or weapons was the type of weapon reuse that was causing problems within the community

@Matticus_Max The events yeah could use renovations, but i dont actually mind or care that much about reused weapons or armor. So my point still does stand mostly even when applying that

@tardyliberator @LucasNoShot Except it’s a poor attempt at being divisive. Basic psychology shows it’s harder to regain trust/affection than it is to gain it initially. By having Abby’s story after you first reach her boss fight not only are you dealing with negative emotions from Joel but also her fight

@Matticus_Max @LucasNoShot The point is that the story writers challenged players to overcome their preconceived biases, yes many players did fail to see that point, I don’t think the story would be as compelling if the dilemma wasn’t divisive. There was no retcon of the first game’s ending.

I genuinely think less of you if you go through the entire story of TLOU2 and still hate Abby.

@tardyliberator @LucasNoShot But that’s the point. The game sets you up to hate Abby then work you back into liking her (much harder to do). It failed with that for many players. It’s also made by worse by the game retconning the ending of the first game
