serious question for other game developers: how do you not go insane playing your own game over and over again

Two years ago today, I released my first game on Steam. It still doesn't feel real at times, being able to look up my own work on an actual store front. Late last year, I started work on a new project. I hope to be able to share it with everyone soon.

@SteinMakesGames Some games are art in the same way that a shitty russian knock off of a pixar movie is still "art". But yes, all games are art.

@BecomingCaptain Criticism is a vital part of any creative process. You have to be able to take it to heart. That being said, no one knows the game you are developing better than you and occasionally, a criticism can come from a place of ignorance or lack of understanding of the game itself.

Gamedevs, do you respond well to criticism?

@vmeezo Thank you for your kind words! I really do hope that a small speedrunning community develops someday, there's a whole mode in there just for them!

@MinimumStudios How many sales/wishlists did you get if you dont mind, and whats the game called?

I have this weird theory that like 50% of indies price themselves out of success. Games that are more than like 10$ are hardly affordable to most people. Lower prices, mean more potential buyers, meaning more reviews and word of mouth.

For the price of the PS5 pro you could by 87 copies of Rectangle Guy.
