An immigration officer defended an illegal Ethiopian foreigner during a raid after he was found running a pharmacy, tuck shop and restaurant in one space. The officer can be heard misstating immigration law, claiming that it is “an asylum seeker’s choice to seek asylum anywhere he wants”, while silencing a South African citizen who was citing the correct immigration law according to the DHA. The officer’s statement threatens the safety of the country.
