Today would have been the 100th birthday of Queen Elizabeth II. In 2008 the Queen visited Slovenia and highlighted the importance of the UK-Slovenia relationship “as a partner in Europe and an ally in NATO, with whom we share so many common values.”

Unexpected discovery today at the fabulous Pivka Park of Military History in 🇸🇮: an M4 Naval #Enigma machine recovered years after the Royal Navy sank German minesweeper R15 in the Adriatic in 1944. The machine is accompanied by a great exhibition about Enigma, Turing, Bletchley.

Did you know that the world’s oldest vine - 460 years old - is in #Maribor 🇸🇮 ? It has survived wars, invasions, phylloxera and communism. And I now have my hands on a 🍾 made from its grapes. Can’t wait to try it. Cheers 🥂!
