@david_roose Well, for my setup I'm using a mix of FPGA equivalents and heavily modified original consoles, so everything is either HDMI or component. Everything goes into either a component switch or HDMI switch, then into an upscaler, then into the TV.

@ORoake All the different audio video cable types across the years across the consoles and getting those connected and streamline down, I wouldn’t know where to start

Current Gaming Setups (2026): 1) Retro Enhanced. 16 retro consoles all using either HDMI or Component into a Tink4K. 2) Retro Classic. 6 retro consoles all using Composite or S-Video. 3) Modern. Mix of modern, newer retro, and VR. 4) High-end PC. 9850X3D/5090.

@ORoake anyone know what those speakers are in the last picture? Seen a few people have them but no idea what brand they are, ty!

@karin19970919 The speakers I have with the Sony CRT are Polk Audio T15 bookshelf speakers. The other speakers are part of the vintage Yamaha YHT-15 surround system that I got in the late '90s.

@WhatzRllyGoinOn It's a fascinating saga, for sure. But the game itself is incredible, and often gets overshadowed and dismissed because of the deserved negativity surrounding its release (or general lack thereof). Hopefully Fonzie and crew can pull through. It's a travesty more people can't play

@ORoake I ❤️ the drama, lore and history around Paprium’s creation. I’m not aware of any other SEGA Genesis / MD game(s) that has that level of mystique.

@WhatzRllyGoinOn 😅 I'm just missing the purple and gold. I have the purple pre-ordered, but have massive doubts whether I'll ever see it. The chance of having gold cart or stick, sadly, is likely gone at this point

@Fanfan_Tweet Yes, that's okay. I did most of my research using @RetroRGB, @MyLifeInGaming, and @dark1x from @digitalfoundry, so I would highly recommend starting with them. With that said, I'll do my best to answer questions.

@ORoake @layerzlayer Bro i used a basic 5.1 for about 2 decades..nothing wrong with it..depends alot on room size..my setups were always in the bedroom before...vaulted ceilings arent too big of an issue to get over..just need some angled speakers as heights...some pics of the evolution first pic 06

@layerzlayer @ORoake Thanks man...i have been into home theater since i was 15..i used my dads hand me downs...i am 39 now 🤣 I have a full 7.2.4 SVS setup with a denon X4800H and Monolith 7X power amp...my room is only 15x15 so any more than that is serious overkill..my PC is to the side

@GwanMLG The Doom posters were gifts, but I believe they were from Etsy. The Tekken 5 poster I got while working at a game store while I was in college. The Smash Bros. poster was from Club Nintendo. Frames are just standard black frames from Amazon/Walmart. I just made sure to match them

@layerzlayer @TyrannicalHavoc I've been thinking about Atmos, but I have a vaulted ceiling in the room with my modern consoles, so I was thinking about keeping it 5.1. Honestly, even the modest sound setup I have now is mostly good enough for me, but I would still like to upgrade a bit.

@ORoake @TyrannicalHavoc You gotta make a Dolby Atmos so 7.1.4 and heck get that pc away from that Monitor and place it in the next near room of your tv then run a long hdmi to the pc and you have the perfect Setup

@macbookm32024 All of the TVs except the CRT are LG C-series OLEDs. I don't watch a whole lot of movies or shows, and when I do, it's more often than not using physical media.

@ORoake You could look into streaming boxes (nvdia shield pro / firestick 4k max etc ) with Stremio + Addons & debrid services (if you’re open to 🏴‍☠️ ) Then from there oled lg’s (C, B or G series) e.g c4 Then Soundbars / systems etc & maybe govee led setup for the tv/+room

@ORoake Do you also use these setups and or have different ones for movies and shows? I understand you may not care about movies n shows but if you have friends n family over That would be great to look into You’re smashing it w the gaming setups already though I must say.

@WordplayXI It comes down to what quality and features you want (output resolution, CRT effects, etc.). Those two consoles are tricky, as one tops out at S-Video (N64) and the other component (Wii). RetroTINK-2X Pro might be a good starting place unless you want more features/resolution.

@ORoake Which RetroTink product would you recommend, if I want to plug in my N64 and Nintendo Wii to my OLED 4k tv? Setup looks amazing btw.

@KoKiceveins eBay 🫤 The rom has been hacked, but it's still far from ideal, especially when it comes to sound.
