That’s honestly the biggest difference I saw going to Regiment to the 82nd. NCO’s had zero control over really anything. It was all in the hands of some dipshit LT who didn’t know how to reserve ranges or ammo. Hip pocket training was nonexistent bc of the constant need for overbearing control over the arms room and commo. Essentially it was “we’re so scared someone’s gonna fuck up that we’re just not going to train them or let them use their stuff” pretty counter intuitive to me.

Ngl there’s not enough Rangers to begin to fix the regular army. Abram’s charter was wishful thinking in the regard that a few Rangers would go out to the RA every year and somehow fix it. The only way that works is standing up training courses at units for shooting, CQB, breaching and have Rangers be cadre there. I presented that idea at Bragg and I can’t tell you how fucking quickly that got shot down because they just don’t care.
