Well, this is terrifying. Iran's Security Chief Larijani just issued the following statement and warning: “I've heard that the remaining members of Epstein's network have devised a conspiracy to create an incident similar to 9/11 and blame Iran for it. Iran fundamentally opposes such terrorist schemes and has no war with the American people. We are defending our country against an aggression launched by the US and Israel. Iran stands tall in doing so in order to teach the aggressors a lesson.” Either Iran has a plan to attack the U.S. and use this for cover, or they got word of something even worse. Or of course this could just be normal propaganda, which hopefully is the case.

@redpillb0t @allthingsregal Without any evidence, of course. One wonders why he would do this (Textbook distraction). It's important to ask who, or what group of people, he wants to distract us from, by pointing a finger at the world's favorite scapegoat.

I have written to @GGCanada in support of @mohamadfakih8. Here is my letter. Your Excellency, I am writing to you today expressing my concern about the hateful campaign against Mohamad Fakih by a handful of bad-faith actors who wish to strip him of his Order of Canada, an honour given to him for his community leadership and philanthropic work, as well as his support for refugees and vulnerable populations in Canada and abroad. This campaign arose from opposition to Mohamad’s public advocacy and commentary explaining how he is morally opposed to Israel’s ongoing genocide of Palestinians in Gaza. I have had the privilege of befriending Mohamad because of our alignment of values on the Palestinian right to life, dignity, and self-determination. I am proud to call him a friend and dear comrade. I want to make clear that this hateful campaign is a distraction, like all racism truly is, to take energy and time away from the real issues at hand. Mohamed has made this clear in his public advocacy that the real issue at hand is the genocide in Gaza. He has been critical of the Canadian government’s foreign policy related to the ongoing genocide in Gaza being committed by Israel, aided and supported by Canada through military arms trade, dual national citizens who enlist in the Israeli military, ongoing free trade, and a total lack of accountability to hold Israel accountable through sanctions. I share the same concerns he has raised, and as a Canadian, I continue to be appalled by the lack of meaningful action by the Canadian government to uphold its own commitments and obligations under international law such as the prevention and punishment of genocide, the upmost need to preserve human dignity and life, and the duty to end complicity and active involvement in genocide and apartheid which are crimes under international law. Last year, I was invited to your Governor General’s Symposium on “Building a Safe and Respectful Digital World”. The aim of this gathering was to “bring together individuals who experience online violence and experts from across the country to share their experiences, explore solutions, and create allyship and networks of resilience”. I believe I was invited to this event because of my own experience of doxing and institutional repression because of my anti-genocide and anti-apartheid views on Palestine, and the Palestinian right to liberation from an illegal and brutal military occupation. The event launched a campaign, #WeDeserveBetter, to serve as a response to online toxicity, offering a platform for sharing experiences, resources, and solidarity. This hateful campaign against Mohamad Fakih is exactly this - a form of online violence, hate, and toxicity. Mohamad and so many others who have been targeted online because of their views on Palestine deserve better, much better, because they are the best of Canadians, and they are the best of humanity, to stand up against people who uphold structural racism and oppression and even worse, who continue to support, deny, or justify the genocide of Palestinians in Gaza. Thank you for taking the time to read my letter, and I look forward to hearing back as to how the Governor General’s office will continue to maintain its commitment for “Building a Safe and Respectful Digital World”, building upon the conversations and dialogue we had last year as a group of community members who have experienced online violence, hate, and toxicity. Sincerely, Yipeng Ge

In a representative democracy, lawmakers are supposed to vote in favor of —not against— the programs serving their communities. 👇Red state lawmakers voting to strip health care/Medicaid funding was so last week. Now it's access to vital information.

Super good visuals showing what are now vulnerable public TV and Radio stations and how much they largely serve rural communities and fill “news deserts.” Nothing good will come of this removal of funding.

@calgaryherald Masterful BS, @calgaryherald! Yes both of these statements are correct, but placing them next to each other suggests a relationship that doesn't exist (namely that Keystone oil would go to US pumps, which it wouldn't) Read this for more info: nrdc.org/stories/what-k….

@TMZ That's fine that he believes that. What he's advocating is the ability for the government to deny all people their rights to make their own medical choices, and I doubt it will stop at abortion.
