@oraclebase Indeed. I raised on a couple years ago about a sqlplus issue. There is a bug, no action in some time. And it is one that should be an easy fix.

Something happened in year 774 that was so powerful we can measure the radioactivity in old tree rings. Best guess is a solar flare, 10 times more powerful than the Carrington Event in 1859 that zapped telegraph wires. Worth considering the effect of the next one. @TanelPoder I recall using blkparse, and feeling it was insufficient. The problem with tools like this for many folks is they are not used frequently enough to recall just what to look for. If I have need of it again, I may look at developing something more user-friendly.

Linux blktrace tool doesn't use (modern) eBPF under the hood, but has used kernel tracepoints from start. It's been around for like 20 years and is stable & reliable even for (short) tests under high I/O load systems. It's output shows how much complexity there is in I/O handling
