Bindi Irwin, daughter of the famed 'Crocodile Hunter' Steve Irwin, posted a heartbreaking life update. She revealed her battle with endometriosis, detailing multiple surgeries and the ongoing fight for better women's health awareness. She said in the post that doctors have removed more than 50 endometriosis lesions from her body since early 2023. She also had a chocolate cyst taken out that was sticking her ovary to her side, along with an appendectomy and hernia repair. But here's the part where I'm sure many of you will relate. She went years where doctors didn't believe her. Irwin explained she dealt with severe, constant pain for a full decade before getting a proper diagnosis. Doctors had brushed it off as something women just have to live with, leaving her feeling weak and insecure as a teen and young adult. She described being trapped in her own body during that time. This comes as March, designated Endometriosis Awareness Month, draws to a close. In her post, Irwin called on people to keep the invisible condition in mind year-round and show compassion to the millions affected. She stressed that raising awareness for endometriosis and women's health overall can stop others from suffering quietly.

The PS5 launched at $499. Five and a half years later, it costs $650. Every PlayStation before it got cheaper over time. The PS2 went from $299 to $129. The PS4 dropped to $299. The PS5 is the first PlayStation in history to go the other way. And it just happened twice in seven months. Sony’s blog post blames “continued pressures in the global economic landscape.” That’s corporate speak for two things hitting at once. First: tariffs. Sony makes most of its PS5 consoles in China. The Supreme Court struck down Trump’s emergency trade tariffs on February 20 (6-3 ruling, unconstitutional), but the administration slapped a new 15% universal tariff on everything under a different trade law within hours. Sony’s CFO put the damage at roughly $680 million for the fiscal year. They tried to get ahead of it by stockpiling consoles in the US. Those stockpiles are running out. Second, and this one flew under the radar: the AI industry is eating the world’s memory chip supply. In October 2025, OpenAI signed a deal with Samsung and SK Hynix to lock up 900,000 memory chip wafers a month. That’s about 40% of all the memory chips produced on the entire planet, reserved for AI data centers. Only three companies (Samsung, SK Hynix, and Micron) make about 90% of these chips, and they’re all prioritizing AI because it pays way more. The tradeoff is brutal: for every one unit of the fancy memory that AI chips need, a factory gives up making three units of the normal memory that goes into things like your console. Memory chip prices nearly tripled through 2025 (up 172%). Analyst firm TrendForce called it “unprecedented,” and projects another 50 to 70% increase this year. So your PS5 is getting more expensive partly because OpenAI and friends are outbidding Sony for the same chips. Sony has shipped 92.2 million PS5s through December 2025, still the top-selling console in the world. But at $650 for a base model and $900 for the Pro, they’re betting GTA VI this fall will push enough consoles to absorb the sticker shock. The PS4 at this same age cost $299. The PS5 now costs more than double that.
