If you're heading to @ATLairport @JFKairport @AirportsHouston or @fly2ohare this week: you're not alone to feel on edge. Go earlier than usual. Lines have been rough—ATL worst, JFK swings by terminal, Houston spotty. Check airport + airline before you go.

40% of hotel bookings see a price drop before check-in, but almost no one checks. Thanks to @BetaList for helping us spread the word today. Don't leave money on the table—just forward your plans and we’ll do the rest. Works for all major US carriers and booking platforms ✈️🏨

Basic Economy exists to make Standard Economy feel like a deal. The $280 seat isn't a product. It's a psychological anchor. You were never meant to buy it.

Stop using free cancellation as a backup plan. Use it as a strategy. 40% of hotel bookings see a price drop before check-in. Book refundable. Monitor. If it drops → cancel + rebook. If it rises → you already won. The algorithm counts on you never checking after booking.

You found a hotel for €140. Screenshot it. Texted the group chat. Woke up. It's €198. Same room. Same dates. A machine learning model decided you were no longer the target customer. Here's how to beat it 🧵

@easyJet @easyJetholidays Extremely disappointed in the way that today’s 9:40 to Hurghada from London Luton has been handled. Flight getting pushed back later and later with no information being listed as to why. 9:40 Departure now not leaving until 15:20 earliest. Shocking.

@thepointsguy Easy: the 787 Dreamliner. Higher cabin pressure & humidity means you arrive actually feeling human. As an app that tracks your whole trip, we know the most-complained-about factor post-flight is fatigue — the 787 genuinely helps there.

@ABC7NY Hot take: airlines enforcing this correctly is fine. The real question is what happens when someone gets removed over a dispute about "refusing" — they may qualify for denied boarding compensation under DOT rules if involuntarily deplaned. Know your rights before you fly.

Using headphones is no longer just considered proper etiquette, it's now a requirement on United Airlines flights. United says passengers who use speakers and refuse to wear headphones could be removed from flights and even face a lifetime ban.The airline says travelers who don't have headphones can request a free pair from flight attendants.

@MrThreeStar @easyJetholidays @easyJet This is the oldest airline trick in the book. Under EU261, "extraordinary circumstances" (weather, ATC) voids the €250-600 comp. But 5-hour delays for ops reasons fully qualify. Ask them to provide the actual ATC log or METAR data proving weather. They rarely can.

@easyJetholidays @easyJet The airline has a massive reason to hide the true reason, that being that they would have to reimburse or refund customers in the form of compensation due to the flight being delayed by almost 5 hours. But by blaming weather, they avoid that.

@billybinion @lc_hobbs The real problem isn't the fine print, it's that most booking flows bury the restrictions. Families book basic economy not realizing they can't sit together — then get surprised at the gate. Better transparency at search time would fix this before checkout.

@lc_hobbs It is very clear when you buy airline tickets now that it costs an extra fee to select seats. It is not a surprise at the gate. You should not buy basic economy if you are going to then demand the offerings of a different product.

It's not weird. Airline profit margins are *tiny.* I find it frustrating too. But if you want an aisle seat—or if you want to sit with your kids/friends/whoever—you aren't entitled to it for free just because you want it.

Real example: Family of 4 buys Main Cabin at $600/ticket. Price drops to $420. Main Cabin: rebook and capture $720 in credits. Basic Economy: nothing. You're locked in. That "$40 savings" just cost you $720.

Airlines created a $40 trap that can cost you hundreds. It's called Basic Economy, and it's not designed to save you money. It's designed to make you feel like you saved money. Here's how the trick works:
