found a good way to describe it in the comments: Backrooms liminal is the incomprehensible vastness and uncaring inhospitability of outer space applied to mundane, everyday human spaces. It has human elements, but the size, placement and emptiness makes it completely anti-human

@ProjectLainn @Minpupunkun It's the writer's interpretation of the story, not kikiyama's. Just because he authorized the light novel that doesn't mean it is kikiyama's canon vision. Same applies with the manga. The novel is basically authorized fan fiction, only the og game is canon.

so yes it is sort of canonical and should be used as canon
