Hi @nikitabier and @elonmusk, I love that you guys are working hard to make the X monetisation program reward original tweets, but I think disincentivising payouts for quotes will do more harm than good, and I'll tell you why. If someone tweets, “My pvssy is wet”, which is not in any shape or form a quality tweet, albeit an original tweet. Then someone else quotes that tweet with a long-form tweet educating their audience about the science behind the natural lubrication of the vagina and how to maintain overall vaginal health, which resonates with millions of users across all ages, regions, and strata, who then engage with the quoted tweet and give it millions of impressions. Under your new payout policy, the original poster who tweeted just four words will get the majority of the payouts, while the person who educated millions of people with an article-like tweet will get next to nothing. You should understand that for many small accounts (anyone below 20k followers), quoting their opinions on other people’s tweets is how they get visibility because their own original posts do not even get up to 1k views. Besides, from my observation of the extant X algorithm, impressions on a quoted tweet are added to those of the original tweet. For instance, if an original tweet which has 200k impressions is quoted by a tweet which does 2 million impressions, the impressions on the original tweet automatically move to 2.2 million, for which both the original poster and the quoter are rewarded. A win-win situation. To then punish somebody who not only quotes a tweet with their own opinion but also helps to push the visibility of the original tweet is unfair and has a downside. Instead of quoting the tweets of small accounts to give them visibility and also help them earn, what big accounts will now basically do is screenshot those tweets and post them on their own pages accompanied by their own thoughts which they would have otherwise quoted. This is detrimental to the growth of small accounts and will end up favouring the big accounts. Now, I understand and appreciate your efforts to reward all original creators by disallowing third-party videos and copy and paste quotes, but disincentivising payouts for quotes altogether is tantamount to throwing away the baby with the bathwater.

Imagine stealing content, adding your own watermark, posting it & getting paid lots of money to do so… Until yesterday, that was the life of Dom Lucre.
