@rrhoover one thing about Ryan... he's gonna rent or sell a house

today’s experiment: chimera. a little tool that let’s you realtime morph through a design system matrix generated by 4 reference images.
this one was inspired by listening to @jameygannon talk about her process on Dive Club with @ridd_design and How I AI with @clairevo. her approach to choosing moodboards over prompts made me wonder what might be possible if we applied that same approach to generative UI. and after a few dead ends, the idea turned into chimera.
the results are very generic at the moment but I might tune it up if people seem interested.
the big reminder for me is how much more inspiring a tool feels when you can explore in realtime instead of waiting for results every time you make a change.
lots more things to try in that direction.

ICYMI: Agentation 2.3.0 now supports full source file detection, meaning you get the exact file path and line number (e.g. src/components/button.tsx:42). Works with Next.js, Vite, Webpack, and Turbopack.
~npm i agentation agentation.dev

@colderoshay spotted! p.s. recommend updating to the latest version :)

@TylerGalpin the best stuff has been from @benjitaylor and it will only get better

the trend i’m seeing is that the best new products and ideas are coming from pure designers in a previous life who can now build anything with AI
and those who were design engineers are producing the least slop. @mainframe is full of design engineers only

Super fun jamming with @austinvalleskey and @noahfarrar on this one!

Readout 0.0.9 adds full support for remote machines, so you can now SSH in and track more across your Mac mini, devices on your tailnet, and virtual machines.

Agentation is averaging ~850,000 downloads per week via npm and over 1 million installs per month! Pretty fun to see it grow from a tool that originally started as a small personal project: benji.org/annotating
English

P.S. Over 5,000 people use Readout to track and manage their dev environments. It's free, fully native, and doesn't require an account: readout.org

I like to imagine this is what grepping for something in a codebase would feel like to Claude

My current pointless evening project (everyone should have one) is a real-time ASCII art engine where you can walk through procedural worlds and interact with your surroundings. Zero purpose to this, but fun to make!

@benjitaylor Whoa, that's rad, what lib are you using for those animations, soooo smoooth
English

@benjitaylor Yoo this is so cool, where are you getting those ideas from brother? Any good sources of inspiration ?
English

@maxym3D you can disable clicks in the toolbar, so the simple option is to (for example) open a modal, then just disable clicks while you annotate
English

@benjitaylor I’ve been using agentation since the launch but is it still not possible to use it with things like hovers, modals, and anything else that is closed by a click? Or am I missing something?
Even Figma capture has a workaround for that.
English

Might just have to reintroduce Agentation
Aiden Bai@aidenybai
Introducing React Grab Select any element on your page → tell Claude Code or Codex what to change Fully open source npx react-grab@latest
English

@aidenybai one initial win would be using the annotation format schema: agentation.dev/schema
English

@benjitaylor lol we should honestly just merge. or at least have some shared primitives where people can vibe code their own element selector tools with different opinions/preferences
