Lewis Hamilton got more podiums in one year vs Alonso than any other teammate including Fisichella in title winning machinery or Felipe Massa over three years. Thats the level.
As for the numbers, it's 48 vs 38 when Alonso's teammates have included the likes Lance Stroll, Stoffel Vandoorne, Nelson Piquet Jr. and Alex Yoong.
Best believe if he had the calibre of teammates Lewis had, they'd have gotten 48 podiums at the very least too. Especially in place of Massa who HORRENDOUSLY underperformed that Ferrari.
So not actually that crazy.

Please compare the wins Lewis' teammates got and the podiums Alonso's teammates got. That should put things in perspective.

@ManderzF1 Jeddah and Qatar are his weak tracks. But I don’t know how much of that was his weakness in high speed corners in ground effect cars.

The best part of this Hamilton remontada is that it’s against Mercedes themselves. Not that there’s any malice or bad blood, but more the story of fighting against the outfit who you once dominated with - is potentially history making. I can only think of 1 time a driver had to fight against their previous team where they had so much success - and that’s Alain Prost in 1990. Winning with a dominant Mercedes juggernaught, and subsequently also beating them will show there is only one common denominator 👑

After today’s result, Lewis achieved a win with his 3rd different team - joining Alonso, Vettel and Raikkonen from that generation (could argue Button as well if you consider Brawn and Honda separately)
I honestly feel like we’re now in a period where drivers (and athletes in general) like to feel comfortable and stay in “their” environment, so it’s a testament to the calibre of that generation from the early/mid 2000s

Hamilton’s middle sector was utterly ridiculous. He did a 30.009 Before that, he’d not gone below 30.5 Went half a second faster in one sector than he’d gone all weekend. The King is back 👑
