The continued fight against cancer kicked off on Thur 25/7/24 with the Cancer run Launch by the Ggaba Corridor clubs with a medical camp at Gaba landing site where over 400 people in the community accessed free medical services & an awareness walk led by DGE Christine Kawooya!

A great fellowship today hosting two Past District Governors and the Vice Country Chair.......They have emphasized the need to have impactful service to the community through the slogan,The Bunga We Need! #D9214 #D9213

...MUKWANOGWABANJI. That was Patrick Muhumuza Kateihwaho. A friend to many. Today, at St. Charles Lwanga Church in Ntinda at 2pm (near UNEB) family, friends, and relatives shall pay homage to a great guy. I am sure friends from all walks of life will be there. I shall watch it on YouTube. Patrick joined @SMACK_UG from BRPS (formerly Norman Godhino) in 1983 with 30 of us. In fact, in S1 it looked like the whole 'Bugi Road' P7 class had migrated enmass to Kisubi. Well, our P7 cohort was number one as Buganda Road came first in PLE that year. Engineers Paul Kabaale and Eng. @eng_gidoi were the two best (top two) students in Uganda. PK was one of the brightest too. In BRPS and SMACK, he maintained that prowess, and walked the talk. Logical in any argument both written and spoken, @kateihwaho would end his conversations reminding folks to always live by the Mantra #DucInAltum , which is Latin for “put out into the deep”, in reference to having deeper thought about issues. In BRPS, Patrick Kateihwaho was acknowledged as the smartest pupil -by his peers, from the time he joined in 1979. Apart from smartness, PK was a kind person. In SMACK, he would advise his friends parents not to bother bringing 'grub' or food as his parents would bring enough to feed almost 20 close friends. The 'grub' suitcase he had was arguably -in the 80s, equivalent to what many may refer to as a #SuperMarket . A sports enthusiast, Patrick was a sportsman. Though he couldn't make it to the SMACK soccer team, he was a staunch member of the SMACK 'Survival Team.' He was also a good lawn tennis player, smart on court both in dresscode and head. PK was also a true leader, and house Prefect of Mugwanya House during his A -Levels. And due to his kindness and astute leadership, no student was suspended or dismissed during his time. For those who know, he was also balancing it out in the 'Biri Awo' Club. (If you know, you know). I struggled with that too. He loved his country, was loyal to his friends, very smart, and a @HMV_SMACK . His passing not only shocked many, but is a testament to the fleeting nature of LIFE. We all weave our stories, leaving patterns in the fabric of time, but in fact, we are but whispers in the wind, returning to earth from whence we came. I knew PK for almost 40+ years. He once told me I was the only one who knew how to spell 'Kateihwaho' right. Many of his friends spelled it wrong, and it bothered him. I am glad I made him happy. Adios Namesake.
