We had over 1,000 livestreams, 8 million plus views and several full time employees for the channel. One of the biggest observations Boomers make about Millennials’ spending habits is how freely they spend money on things that aren’t truly necessary. Gym memberships, multiple streaming subscriptions, expensive phone plans that include the latest Samsung or Apple flagship, frequent restaurant lunches, eating out several times a week, premium internet services, and new luxury cars are all common examples. Door dash and other service did not exist. Boomers could not buy these things due to lack of availability. Easy access to credit has also changed expectations. Millennials often see no issue with buying the upgraded or “deluxe” version of almost everything, even when a basic model would suffice. Boomers, by contrast, typically bought base-model cars that had no radio, no air conditioning, no rear-window defroster, manual transmissions, and manual bench seats. These stripped-down versions were readily available and what most people actually purchased. Today, dealers rarely offer true base models—only heavily equipped, luxurious versions. Many Millennials don’t think twice about paying the premium for these upgraded features. This difference stems from two main factors: when Boomers were young, many of these conveniences and luxury options simply didn’t exist or weren’t widely available, and they almost always paid cash. Having to pay cash forced them to exercise impulse control and practice frugality. The limited product options also taught them that basic versions usually worked just fine. In short, easy credit, a massive expansion of product choices, and a strong desire for comfort and status have led many Millennials to make purchasing decisions that regularly exceed their income.

A lot of people are saying people have to eat DoorDash because they’re working double shifts and cooking at home is difficult but DoorDash literally didn’t exist until a few years ago. The truth is most people are just bad with money. They always have been and always will be. When I was in college, despite barely earning above minimum wage, I had money to buy new computers and things I wanted for the simple reason that I was frugal. Whatever I made, I spent less than that. I never used debt. I had roommates. I drove a paid off car. In fact, I never bought a new car and always paid cash until I got married and bought a new car for my wife to cart the baby around in. Some people just don’t think or plan beyond today.

entitlement is strong in this post 1) live with a roommate 2) car loan should be less than $10,000, if it is more, sell it and buy a used high mileage civic. 3) student loan debt has to be paid. get a 2nd job to pay it down as much as possible. 2nd job will save money since you have limited free time 4) laundry/clothing/hair cuts - buy durable clothes, not a closet full, do your laundry in a machine (full loads), hair cuts (minimize costs) 5) grocery, don't buy prepared food. chop vegetables, cook from scratch, buy hamburger, chicken, and eggs not more expensive cuts. No soda, no beer. No bottled water, a brita and tap water. Every little bit helps with your finances. Getting a car loan paid off and getting the college loans under control is key. Realize that borrowing $200k for college was a mistake, that there were cheaper options, but stop blaming others as if they were the ones controlling your signature on at least 4 different sets of loan papers. Boomers like me, ate a lot of mac & cheese, used a bicycle for recreation, and took a bus to work. Even had a part time job making pizza.

Rent for these kids averages between $1600 and $2000 on a 1bedroom/studio apartment. Add utilities. Add food. (No eating out, just groceries) Add the smartphone they need in order to get their weekly schedule and coordinate with coworkers. Add student loan debt they were told (BY THE BOOMERS) they needed in order to succeed in life. Add the car payment on a 200,000 mile rolling shitbox. That still doesn't account for laundry, clothing, hair cuts, medical, dental, etc. Stop giving the Zoomers so much shit, when BOOMER subtards are the ones who made the world so worthless and disgusting.

Year-round Daylight Saving Time is not some new idea. America already tried it in 1974. It was an unmitigated disaster. It was sold as an energy-saving emergency measure during the oil crisis. Congress put the nation on permanent DST starting January 6, 1974. But within weeks, the dark winter mornings produced exactly the kind of problems critics warned about: children going to school and waiting for buses in predawn darkness. Congress reversed course that same year and restored standard time for the winter beginning October 27, 1974. The contemporaneous coverage is striking. On January 24, 1974, the Miami Herald ran: “3 Children Killed, Four Are Injured on Dark Mornings.” On January 29, 1974, the Sentinel Star in Florida said the legislature was meeting in special session because of “seven children killed while walking to school in pre-dawn darkness.” The Congressional Record was already referring to children waiting at bus stops in the cold dark, and even citing headlines about children killed in the early morning while waiting for the bus. By February 14, 1974, one paper was calling it “Daylight Disaster Time.” Public opinion collapsed. What began with broad support quickly turned into a backlash once people actually experienced winter mornings under permanent DST. One later account, citing contemporaneous reporting, notes support fell from 79% to 42% in roughly three months. This is the lesson from 1974: People like brighter evenings in theory. They like dark winter mornings a lot less in real life. And when children have to walk to school in darkness, the politics change very fast.
